Santa brought me a PM40 for Christmas and I promptly joined the KahrTalk cult. I have been surveilling you guys from the shadows for awhile but I didn’t feel worthy of joining until I was legit Kahr owner.
After many hours of snuggling and crooning, I walked Kahrma (yeah, I name ‘em all) through the steps of “proper prep of a new Kahr” (thanks Jacko and others). This morning, Kahrma and I rolled into the range with 200 rounds of ammo and the intent to shoot it all up. Things went well as Bawanna45cal had said they would. After reading all the reviews from naysayers and Kahr-bashers on other forums, I was anticipating the possibility of a long frustrating day attempting to force-feed ammo down Kahrma’s throat. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case.
I started out with 50 rounds of PMC Bronze and had two FTB. A little love tap on the back of the slide sent it home and back into battery. We then moved on to 50 rounds of Speer Lawman with no incidents. Our third course was 50 rounds of Federal American Eagle. We had another FTB in the first magazine but zipped through the rest of the box very smoothly. After a little break and a few drops of fresh gun oil, I decided to move on to some hollow points for dessert. I fed her 50 rounds of Federal HST Tactical without a hiccup.
I gotta admit that the web / meat of my right thumb is a little tender from shooting this little pocket rocket but I’m satisfied with how the gun performed. If my next trip to the range is completed without any failures I may have a new carry gun. I’m still waiting for my new Crossbreed holster to arrive. I haven’t drank the kool-aid just yet but if this holster works half as good as most are saying, it will be Kahrma’s new ride.
Well the house smells of Hoppe’s #9 and the wife is going to be pissed when she discovers I used all the Q-tips again. It’s good to be here and I look forward to learning and sharing with all you folks.

Welcome aboard. You can try putting a bike tube cover on the grip to tame the cheese grater teeth. It's cheap and there are several posts here about doing that... just remember there's talcum powder inside the tube and don't dump it in your pistol. :D I turned the tube inside out and washed it before installation. I put one on all of my tupperware Kahrs and it doesn't hurt the looks.

Glad you found the Motherland of Kahrs, so to speak. Good range report, I'm sure it will get even better. Be prepared though, these little Kahrs can be addictive.

Wyntrout,
I like the aggressive grip on this gun. It is a little much for a long day at the range but I think it would be just perfect in a sweaty / bloody, hostile encounter. Your bicycle tube grip sounds like a good idea too. I’ll have to get one ready for my next long range day.
I’ve never used a bike tube on a pistol but my rifles have lots of TBT (tactical bike tube). It works great for holding pressure pads, power cords or even lights in a pinch. Thanks for the tip!
Kahrseye,
You may be a little too late with your surgeon general’s warning about the addictive nature of Kahr. I’ve only spent one day at the range and I already find myself seeking out more ammo. Without help, one day I might be stealing ammo from family and friends just to get that next “fix”. I have already started talking to the wife about trading her LCP for a Kahr .380. I’m not a Kahr junkie just yet but I can see an intervention in my future…….

Scumhunter,
don't forget to take a look at the agrip for the smaller grips of your pm. I have one on my p9 covert and absolutely love it. Feels great in your hand, and makes it very nice to shoot for longer range periods also.
I wish they made one to fit my tv remote...

blt2fli,

I have never held or even seen an agrip in person. I've seen them in pics and thier appearance is not my cup of tea. With that said, I'm all about function and if I got to try one, I just might become a cutomer.

used alot one of those bicycle finger less riding gloves yo can buy at wal-mart. They have alittle gel padding i the palm area and the gun just never moves either in that glove. great for range usage.. Cheap in price also. Nice thing about those fingerless gloves is u can still have it on and be able to pickyour nose or itch your ear..

Jocko,

Just when I thought I had mastered the art of nose picking and ear itching, you go and expand my vast knowledge!

Once upon a time, I was a hard-core mountain biker (I even raced in the PsyCowPath series a couple years). Ahhhh, the memories of spandex and bruised taint are washing over me...........errrr anyhow, back to my point. I have about 10 pairs of those gel biking gloves stashed around the house. I'll knock the mothballs off of a pair and take them to the range. GREAT IDEA!
