The slide release on my PM9 is a work of art, but it also sharp as can be. I could probably use it to as a box cutter in a pinch. I'd like to remove some of the sharp edges, but I'm not sure I trust myself. Has anyone here done this, or had a smith do it? Got any pictures? Thanks!

Also, the slide release seems a little different than my MK9. On the MK9, the pin that runs through the barrel spun freely (I could hold the slide release lever and turn the pin.) On my PM9, the pin does not turn at all. Those of you with PM9s, what is your slide release like?

your slide release on ur pM9 is OK. It is also a two peace slide release. Some will turn , some will not. either way no problem.

If you want to see a fully contoured slide release find JOCKO'S CUSTOM PM9 on this site and look it over. Took me maybe ten minutes to dremel it and reduce it about 1/3rd. . Certainly a no brainer to do, especially being I did it it even

I have some pictures of mine but darned if I can get them here.

It's a piece of cake to take a file and just smooth things off however you want it. It does make a huge difference to me in not hitting it with my thumb. I checkered mine and really rounded it off.

If you mess up, just order a new one and try again.

gb6491. u did a nice job, You can contour even more if you fee like it, but wha tyou did looks good. Kinda wish kahrs wold do that but they hav elately on the models beveled the end of the lever where as they never used to do it. I think they have the bigger stop on there due tothe reason they insist one use it to load that first round and mayb ealso they fele if you don't like it, yo can modify it, where as if they made it smaller, then you wold behard pressed to making it bigger. Hell who knows, just file or dremel away, the worst you can do is ruin the lever and have to buy another one, the best you can do is what you ended up with.

I hate to bump such an old thread but could one of you enlighten me on just what Dremel attachment to use to get such results?

Just about any stone or even the sanding drum will work. I used a file mostly on mine, then some sandpaper and finally a polishing wheel on the dremel.

I took alot more off than most I've seen and its fast and easy to do. Just rounding off the edges helps a bunch and takes no time at all.
