Christmas night i placed an order with Kahr directly for a set of wood grips for my MK9 and also a set of polymer magazine pads, And payed extra for 2nd day shipping. But as of today they still haven't shipped my order.

Do they not keep these grips in stock and have to have them built?
Is their shipping dept. just slow for getting orders out?

I tried to call tonight to ask what was going on as im about the most impatient person like 98% of the people here are too when it comes to their guns.
But they were closed already, So i thought id ask here and maybe get some info before i call tomorrow and sound dumb for not giving them enough time.

I hear the wood grips make your shots 33% more accurate and your ammo expand 12% more on average and lighten the recoil to the point many people say its like shooting a .22lr
J/K i have a headache and i get good meds for that so i get a bit silly sometimes :)
But i am serous about the stuff above as real questions tho.

normally kahr has the grips on stock. just not sure how to answer that 12% more expansion stuff on the ammo, that makes zero sense to me. If wood grips make ones shoot 33% better, then I am going to get some 2 X 4's and make me a set for my PM9. I certainly need something.

Alittle tip, keep that right side grip screw tightened allthe time. Wood grips on kahrs for some reason tend to shoot loose. The right side grip is what keeps the trigger bar in place to, and if the grip gets alittle loose the trigger bar can get alittle out of whack and you might get some light strikes, due to a dead tirigger. This usually is the result of a loose grip screws

OK, Ill give them a some more time before i bug them. I just didnt think it would take 2-4 days just to fill and ship an order. But it is a busy time of the year retail wise.

The other stuff was me trying to be funny while my pain meds kicked in for a bad headache. Sorry if i confused you with my bad humor, Sometimes only i find myself funny. :)

I think ill use some blue locktite then if the screws dont bite down into the wood good enough to help retain them from backing out.

Thanks for the help jocko, Your always there with Bawanna when i need an answer!

has even mentioned using a very smal lO ring on those grip screws. have no idea where to go looking for it but possabaly an automotive store. If your gonna locktite it, I would suggest the purple locktite and most gun stores sell the purple. It is the weakest of all locktite thread lockers but it will hold your grip screw in place and yet be easky to get out. I wouldsuggest if you do a deep cleaning of your kahr with wood grips to take the grips off, as some of these solvents will eat right through the finish. Don't take a chance..

The rubber "O" rings work pretty well. Any automotive parts house usually has a tray with a bajillion different sizes. I prefer the ones that match the screw diameter and are fairly thin. If you have a screw thats a tad too long you can get the thicker O ring and burn up a little length. They come in different thickness's as well as diameters.
I'd get extra as they do sometimes get torn taking grips on and off.

My grips only provide 28% more accuracy but improve expansion nearly 20%. The biggest thing is they increase the muzzle energy by an astounding 47%. Kind of proud of that figure.

Who's joking? We don't joke around here. Get serious!

We got about 4" of white crap over night and still coming down, thats serious. But I'm home so I guess why do I really care?

Thanks for the tips, I may still give Kahr a call and see if ill be having a long wait.
Even tho im impatient, Doesnt mean im rude about it. I understand many times we cant have all things instantly like were used to these days.

Ive never had any issues with blue Locktite and prefer it as ive found it to be just right for grip screws and bushings, Thats for the wood and chemicals comment as many people dont know or remember that many times.
Im a 1911 guy so im very used to wood grips on my steel framed guns.
My solution is i only use solvents (Hoppes 9) on my barrel while out of the gun, Clp gets used to wipe everything else clean.

I get your guys jokes many times as you seem very much like me, But you don't know me to well and cant tell if im on your wave length or just out there. Its one reason i like it here.

Just an update here as my impatience knows no bounds.
I emailed Kahr as they were swamped on the phone lines and i couldn't get threw.
I sent my email asking why my order was taking so long to fill as i had paid for upgraded 2nd day shipping and thats kind of a waste of money if it takes a week to fill the order.

I sent my email at 4:04pm EST and at 4:13pm EST i had an answer from Nate in sales and was told the checkered wood MK grips were on backorder, But if i wanted to switch to the smooth grips they could have them out tomorrow.
So i may not see them until Monday but at least i know they are coming and on the way.

It may be time to learn how to checker wood now, Or send em off to Bawanna as i hear hes the man when it comes to playing with wood. But ill see as i would like to learn how to do it myself as i have other grips id like done also.

So Kudo's to Kahr during a busy time of year and bad weather to get on this quickly once i bring it to their attention.

Anybody know where I can order some wood grips for Nemo? :p

They were back ordered was the reason, Checkering wasn't all that important as i need to learn ho to do it anyhow. So i told them to just send my the smooth grips and refund the difference in price.

Checkering is not difficult but it does take lots of patience and concentration. It took me a very long time to get the technique down but once I got it it seems it's like riding a bike, even when I don't do it for awhile I can come back and do it. Grips are a great way to learn since your not taking a chance on a rifle stock that might be disastrous if you goof.
I've not lost any due to checkering but lost several after lots of hours due to a crack, heartbreaking at best.
There are lots of good books that talk you thru the process. I prefer Dem Bart checkering tools which incidently are located close to me but I buy them thru Brownell's. Lots of gunsmith supply places have them.
If I can help, I'm there for ya.

Thanks Bawanna, Ill keep that in mind once i get the grips here Monday and see if i want the checkered in some way.
Whats odd is Kahr credited my credit card account the whole amount and never recharged the lower priced order back. So on Monday when i get the grips ill have to email the Rep at Kahr and make sure they recharge me for the non checkered grips.

Im one of those Karma types and if i let it go and was never recharged it would bug me to no end.
