just picked up a cw40 and looking for a good holster. i am used to carrying outside the waste band with a glock19 in a fobus holster. i have carried IWB but it is just too bulky. i feel with the slimmer frame and lighter weight i wont feel this problem? is this true? what are some good holsters for both IWB and OWB? be honest...looking for tons of opinions and options. thanks!
ps...how is dealing with kahr when it comes to customer service?

I have a CW9 that is my favorite carry pistol. I am enclosing a link for the CW40 that is the same style as the one made for the CW9 that I use. Everyone is different in what is comfortable to them, I really like this one. Here is the link http://www.donhume.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65_5&products_id=35

Picked up a comp-tac mtac for my CW40. Great holster for IWB, very comfortable and fully adjustable. IWB is the way to go with the CW series

I carry all my compacts and sub-compacts IWB. I feel more comfortable knowing that the bad guys don't know I'm armed. It also prevents the little old lady at Wal-Mart from having a heart-attack when she spots my OWB gun.
If I'm carrying a full-size gun (usually only in the winter) I'll use a OWB holster and my coat to conceal.
I find IWB very comfortable with a good holster. I never leave the house without my gun and I forget it's there until I get home. I do buy all my pants a size bigger just to make room for my carry rig.
I have owned holsters from nearly every major company. My personal IWB favorite is my DeSantis. Fits like a glove, very comfortable and cheap! One of my least favorites is Blackhawk. Mine has a very thick, oversized plastic clip. The clip adds bulk (thickness) and the clip is too big to lockdown on my belt. You may want to look at Crossbreed holsters also, lots of folks are crazy in-love with them. I have one on order but I can't give a personal recommendation yet.

I think the key is having room in the waistband of your pants. I don't care how great your gun / holster combo is, if you don't have enough room in there, you are not going to be comfortable.

right. i've always just had problems with the gun tilting back or forward as i move. might have just been the holster, or the glock(really made for owb)

The secrets to comfortable IWB carry:
1. good holster
2. good belt
3. enough room in the waistband
and having a thin frame auto helps too.
I can carry a full size 1911 or a Glock 23 IWB with reasonable comfort and the right holster. My PM9 and CW9 are so comfortable that I can forget they're there in Crossbreed Minituck.

I've been using a De Santis Sof Tuck IWB for my CW40 for a couple of months now, and once I got the cant adjusted to my liking it's proven to be very comfortable, not something I have to take off as soon as I get home. It's not uncomfortable to drive with. It has a reinforced top so reholstering your weapon is pretty easy. It was also very resonably priced at one of the online retailers, I think less than $25.
One holster maker posted that he had leather and kydex holsters similar to the MTAC for about half the price Hybrid holster for $35 (http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=3046). Haven't tried it but it looked decent. I do believe the lighter weight and the slim width of the Kahr products make them a great weapon for IWB carry.

In that case you need an IWB holster like a Comp-Tac M-tac or similar that has two clips to spread the load on your belt and keep the gun from walking back and forth like a single clip IWB holster.
right. i've always just had problems with the gun tilting back or forward as i move. might have just been the holster, or the glock(really made for owb)

I would say get a HIGHNOON bare asset IWB and then order a a High ride pancake from TTGUNLEATHER, my opinion fwiw. i have a highnoon for every gun, the in stock items are shipped in 1-2 days, TTGUNLEATHER is a wait but very well worth it!

Plastic Fobus paddle holsters are my first choice for carry while on my mountain bicycle out in the desert. I have perfectly fitting Fobus holsters for several sizes of 1911, a P-3AT and an LCP. So, naturally a search of the internet to find a Fobus paddle holster for the new CW40 was high on my list.
At least one poster somewhere claimed that C21-B worked well. Since I read it on the Internet it must be true, so I ordered one. It arrived today. Replacing the tension screw with a longer bolt and grinding away quite a bit of plastic resulted in an "acceptable" fit, but it is not perfect.
Has anyone with a CW40 found a plastic paddle holster they really like? If so, could you please share the manufacturer and exact model number. I would be very grateful.
So has anyone found a good quality/great fitting paddle holster for the cw40 yet?
