Santa brought me a new Kahr P9. Coincedently picked up my CCW two days before Christmas.

Got to put 100 rounds down range yesterday (flawless on WWB and RWS FMJ). Sore hands...Hogue Handall Jr will be on order soon. Overall I like the gun. Need to get used to that long trigger pull.

During the post range cleaning I noticed that the front left frame guide rail (item 10 on the lube diagram) had a small nick out of it (less than 0.5mm half moon about a quarter inch from the end). Doesn't appear to affect function..but was curious if this was normal or something I should talk to Kahr about.

Welcome to the forum, heprat!! You are starting another interesting journey but we don't want to spoil it by giving you all the answers before you ask the questions, so ask away. I did and it really helped my introduction.

One thing we want is for you to have positive experiences so please read through the Preparing Your New Kahr (http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1521) thread and others around it. It's all good info.

Welcome to the forum heprat,I'm sure you'll enjoy it here. The Hogue Handell Jr made all the difference in the world on my CW45.

thanks for the welcomes
I had read and followed the "preparing" recommendations...and I attribute the flawless function of the gun partly to it. On Christmas day my hands were raw from cycling the slide all day...the serrations in the slide are sharp...and I have girly hands from sitting at a desk all day.

My wife commented on how the Kahr looked like my Springfield XDMs little brother. Guess that will make the future P380 the little sister.

Now to finish breaking it in and confirm it likes to eat some defensive rounds. Planning to carry in a kholster cresent moon. Will be placing the order for that next week.
