Alright, I have a couple questions which are going to broadcast my newness with Kahr, be patient with me.:der:
My new PM40 came with the 5 round (flush) and the 6 round (extended) mags. I've looked around and I know Kahr dosen't make a mag for this gun that holds more than 6 rounds.
1) Does anyone know of any after-market companies or gunsmiths that make a higher capacity mag for this gun?
2) Will a TP40 mag function properly in a PM40? This would give me 1 more round but I would prefer more.
Let me explain..... My state qualification is designed around high-cap mags and it is going to be impossible to pass with a 5 and 6 round mag. Even if I buy a couple more 6 rounders, qualifying is going to be a tough (we are timed and we have lots of mag changes). If I can find a couple higher cap mags, it sure would make life easier on me.

I'm not sure but you may be able to use 8rd mags from the k or p series pistols, they look like they will work

Banned revolvers as backup off duty guns? What kind of insanity is that?

people who buy a PM 40 are wanting for concealability. to insert a 8 round mag in to me would not only look butt ugly but also might give issues due to such a short mag well to start with and then shoving an extra long magazine. 2 and 2 in this case might not add up to 4. your sur enot gonna carry it with an 8 round mag in the gun, so IMO why even mess with it. IMO if you wanted more mag capacity you should have bought the bigger kahrs offered...

Jacko,
You are correct, concealabilityis exactly why I bought the PM40. I’ve had lots of mouse guns due to their comfort and ease of carry but I’ve never been a fan of the .380 caliber. I’ve had my eye on the Kahr .40 for years due to it’s small stature and .40 cal. punch.
Now that I have one, I am looking for larger capacity mags to overcome some qualification issues. I wouldn’t carry the gun with an extended mag (not even the one it comes with) I just need them to qualify.
So........If anyone out there has both the PM40 and a K or P 40, can you tell me if the mags are interchangable???
Let me explain..... My state qualification is designed around high-cap mags and it is going to be impossible to pass with a 5 and 6 round mag. Even if I buy a couple more 6 rounders, qualifying is going to be a tough (we are timed and we have lots of mag changes). If I can find a couple higher cap mags, it sure would make life easier on me.

oh I ubnderstand, just be aware that some of the extended kahr magazines just don't work reliabilly well. to much magazine and to little mag well to hold everythingin propelr order..
having a spare 6 rounder would probalby do u just as well, as I canj't see any qualification being timed etc, unless it is competition, then IMO u best get another gun for that stuff..

I'm all about proper function but I have to qualify twice a year on several timed courses of fire (50 rds total) including several mag changes. 2 or 3 more rounds per mag would make things easier, even if the mags weren’t dependable enough to carry outside of the range.
If such a mag doesn’t exist, I'll forge ahead with my 5 and 6 round mags. I'll have to do 2 mag exchanges for every one mag exchange our qualification course is designed for. I'm always up for a challenge and if I have to spend some extra time on the range practicing…… I'll get over it! :33:
