Almost bought a PM45 today at a Gun Show, it was new for $599 which is the lowest price I have seen. I am still undecided which to go with a P or PM, I can still go back tomorrow if I decide.

The same dealer showed me a Colt Defender and another 3" 1911, the SA trigger is sure nice. So many ways to go when you are looking at 45's.

Thats a great price for a brand new PM45. I feel your pain on all the options though. If you were set on a PM it would be easy enough but throw in a few other options and things get complicated pretty fast.

Personally I'd go commander size if I went a 1911. It's not that much harder to conceal a 4" barrel over a 3 and has a tiny bit more potential at the range.

So many toys, so little time.

I really like my PM45, and it comes in handy in the hot weather. However I have recently developed a fondness for 1911's and now have four. I think the loaded SS SA ultra compact is my favorite, and it's just a bit larger [3.5 in] than the Colt. You're right, I love the triggers.

The SS SA ultra compact what price range would it be in?

For me that's a bit complicated because I had a trade. I bought a CPO SIG P220 in August to replace a stolen one for $525. I didn't like the DAK trigger, plus the police recovered my perfect nickel plated P220, so I called the dealer in SD about a trade. He took my SIG back and shipped the new SA Loaded SS Ultra Compact for $300 plus shipping of $30. I think his price on the SA pistol at the time was $800. I will add that I shot the Springfield for the first time on Friday. 150 rounds of Federal bulk ball and 28 rounds of Remington UMC JHP without one hiccup. Plus like the other 1911's, it was deadly accurate. I'm very happy with the deal and the gun
