Cell Phone Saves Man

A valet claims his cell phone saved his life when it stopped a bullet. Interestingly he uses the same cell phone as me....an HTC Incredible. Maybe I have more protection than I thought. :confused:

Lucky guy. It's hard to tell, but those look like two subcompact Glocks, so they would have to be 9mms at least and not .380s or smaller.

Mythbusters did a segment on a laptop stopping a 12-gauge round (birdshot) from 3-4 feet. The laptop stopped the blast, but only when it was shot in the battery compartment.

There was another case last year of a guy who was out on his lawn tractor and got hit by a 45 ACP bullet that impacted a cell phone in his shirt pocket. The PD figured it was at the end of it's trajectory, so it would still be traveling about 300 fps. When I heard about it, I told my wife to buy two cell phones just like it. I'm not taking any chances - she can carry both when she mows our lawn.

That's too funny, Rob! If it was my ex, the phones would have to be the size of two 12" iron skillets! What do you do with all that stuff 'cept smother? Maybe that's why she's ex!
