Hello to all. I just purchased a NIB PM9 tonight and broke it in right away. I ran 250rds of Speer Lawman 147gr FMJ, 150rds of Speer Lawman 124gr FMJ, 50rds of Remington UMC 115gr FMJ, 30rds of 147gr Federal HST, and 20rds of 124+P Federal HST. I experienced (4) FTF's in the first 100 and after that it was smooth sailing. I really think that I may have hit the magazine release which caused the FTF, its been awhile since I shot a Kahr. I am very impressed with the PM9. The accuracy is just amazing. I was able to put together some really tight groups ranging from 7 to 15yds. The Federal HST 124+P had the most snap & the 147gr HST was my favorite. I used the 7rd mag along with three 6rd mags to break it in. I installed a Pearce extension on one of my 6rd mags. I plan on putting quite a few more rounds down range before it gets summertine duty. Overall I am pleased with my purchase. I included a picture of my little buddy.

Thank you!! I am really glad I made the plunge. I haven't enjoyed myself that much at the range in a long time.

Got the same model you did a few months back. Black slide and night sights. Got the pearce grip extention too. I told a friend at work about it, and he bought one too.
He went to the range for the first time last week and stated how much he liked the pm9 and how accurate it was. Sounds like the Kahr pm9 is addictive!:D

I can see how they can become addictive. How do you like the night sights? Did your buddy get the stainless steel slide or DLC? How many rounds have you put thru your PM9?

Hmmm, thinking of the Skipper now, are you going to name your little buddy "Gilligan"? :)
I sure like my PM9 and from your great start know you will also.

Gilligan, LOL!! Don't have a name for it yet but I'm slapstick happy with it. Do you have the stainless or DLC? How many rounds thru it so far? Is it your EDC?

My friend got the stainless slide version. I have shot about three hundred rounds Only two hiccups. One was when I shot one handed with my weak hand. May have limp wristed it. Anyway, I am glad I have a quality well engineered pocket pistol, not some cheap substitute.:D

I really like the all black look as it would match my all black 1911's, But i have an MK9 in all stainless which goes against all my personal taste color wise.
But its grown on me.
Even tho mines slightly different with the steel frame its basically the same gun, And i find it amazing at how well these little guns handle recoil and the quality inside to make them operate so smooth.
Ive even had range days where my MK9 has out shot my 1911's at 21'
Im a 1911 guy all the way and only use my MK as a back pocket bug and a 1911 as a main gun. Both of my 1911's have trigger jobs and one even has all high end hand fit and polished action and im certainly not used to a DAO trigger.
But the paper told the tale that even a 1911 guy can shoot a great DAO trigger just as good if not better than a fine tuned SAO.
Good luck with you gun and may it serve you well!

I cleaned my PM9 last night and boy was it dirty. I used Corrosion X for lubrication, the stuff is good. Woke up this morning feeling good so I hit the range and ran another 100rds of Remington UMC 115gr FMJ thru it. No malfunctions!! I am able to sling shot the first round into the chamber without using the slide stop. I put the target out to 75ft and was able to put 10rds into a 3" Shoot-N-C. It wasn't a real tight group but all 10 were in the black. The factory dot the "I" sights are very similar to the XS set-up. I'm enjoying myself as if you guys couldn't tell.

My PM9 will be my summertime IWB carry piece. Not sure about Mary Ann but I'm working on it. What did you name yours?

My PM9 has the black slide. I really like it but don't shoot it enough, guessing only about 1K rounds in 15 months. I got it to just use as a tool, but have grown quite fond of it, yet I guess it's name is "PM9".

I know your PM9 is really starting to loosen up with 1k thru it. I felt my PM9 loosen up quite a bit after the 600rds I put thru it. Can't wait to hit the range again.

Ran another 150rds of Remington 115gr FMJ & 12rds of 147gr HST thru my PM9 this morning. I now have 762rds total thru it. I cleaned it for the 2nd time when I got back home. I'm gonna have to put a piece of innertube on the grip because its getting a little abrasive. The PM9 rocks!!

I would rather call it mating up more than loosening up. My PM9 has thousands of rounds through it and the damn gun still feels tight but now it is just so smoothed out it is ridiculous..

Ognimalf-nice gun. I like the black better than my 2-toned. How do you like the Pearce grips? I tried them and hated them for 2 reasons: 1st--gave me some serious blisters and 2, it was too long to pocket carry.
See attached (Pearce in middle photo). I went with the shorter grip extensions on the 6 rd mag, and they work good for pocket carry.

deadhead, but I truly like your blunt nose PM9 to, like a concealed gun should look like IMO. I have never been a fan of any mag extension or finger peace. I guess I want it as small as possable...

I have always been a fan of the Pearce extensions but I rather have the flush factory floorplate on my PM9. The only reason I am still using the Pearce extension is because I don't have an innertube to put on the grip at the moment. The stippling has become abrasive to my inner hand when shooting my carry load ( Federal HST 124+P or 147 ), so I am using the extension until I purchase an innertube. I agree with you & Jocko, the PM9 conceals and feels better with the factory floorplate. When I purchased my PM9 I was looking for one with the older style slide like yours but couldn't find any locally, so I went with what was available. I also prefer the older style because the grip is longer.

How did you get the rubber floorplate over the metal flush floorplate?

The grip is longer? I did not know that and no one has said that before. Hmm perhaps theres more to this new version than we thought. It can't be much longer?

I just wish the factory would have made the floor plats black instead of the stainless finish. Here we have alot of PM guns in complete dlc finish and this butt ugly stainless floor plate.
I had my carry magazine all black coated (forgot who did it_) and it shows zero wear to, looks nice. oh well I probably would bit-h if I won a million bucks and had to pay the taxes..

In the VA, VC, and VD series PM9, the grip is longer than the IA, IB, or IC series.

That stainless floorplate doesn't bother me as much as the shorter grip. Offering the magazines with a black coating would be extremely cool, total stealth.

shorter grip, that is what the PM model is. u should have maybe looked at the P9, not pocketable but certainly more to hand on to..

On the older model PM9's with the serial # starting with VA, VB, VC, and VD the grip length is longer than the PM9's withthe serial # IA, IB, and IC. I personally owned a VC & VD series PM9, believe there is a difference.

This is not my picture, I found this online. Look how much less the magazine hangs out of the bottom of the magwell. It hangs out much less because the grip is longer than the more recent PM9s.

If you look at the picture closely you can count (10) rows of stippling on the front strap of the grip. On the newer version there is only (9) rows of stippling.

Don't worry about the number of dimples. Will drive you nuts. Counting dimples is for shooters who don't get enough (shooting of course). :33:

Good catch Ognimalf, I didn't notice that. It also looks like the side panel stippling goes much lower on the older frames. And the bottom rear edge seems more curved on the newer frames, which would explain why they cut the stippling short.

Also the rear stippling went from 14 rows to 12.

Yup you hit the nail on the head. That's why I preferred the older style over the newer one. But as I think about it, Kahr didn't just add length to the slide solely for aesthetic purposes. For whatever reason it's an upgrade and I have it.

Put another 150rds of Remington UMC 115gr FMJ & (6) 147gr Federal HST downrange this afternoon without flaw. I now have 918 total rounds thru my PM9. Once I hit the 2k mark I'll send it off for a night sight upgrade. I shot with my weak hand today and was surprised at how well I did. Since it's not in rotation yet I think I'll run another 500rds thru it before it's next cleaning. Just to see if the Corrosion X stands up.

Hey fellas you guys are not gonna believe this. I ran 110rds of Speer Lawman 124gr FMJ thru the PM9 this morning and out of the 110rds I experienced 10 FTF (nose dives). At first I thought it might be the feed ramp because it was dirty, so I cleaned the feed ramp with my gun rag. Started firing again and so did the failure to feeds. I thought to myself maybe it's the Pearce extensions so I switched back to the factory floorplates on both mags. Started firing again and so did the failure to feeds. I think maybe it just doesn't like the Speer Lawman because I just ran 150rds of Remington UMC 115gr FMJ thru it yesterday without a glitch. I emailed Kahr and requested a Return Authorization number. I want my PM9 to feed any brand of factory ammunition properly whether it be FMJ or hollow point. I really think it's the Speer Lawman because I had (4) FTF in the first 450rds and it was Speer Lawman FMJ that I was shooting. I'll keep all of you posted.

have u checked to see if possably those rounds are hitting on the left side inside where the slide lock lever is. If they hit that, it will pull that round off enough to cause FTF. I understand your point to but if you eliminated that one brand down to being touchy in your PM9, then why not just move one to another brand. There are just so so many good 9mm brand sof ammo out there even. My kahr P380 will not do well with 102 grain Remingotn Golden sabre ammo, just not reliabe. Shoots everything else with ease.( I never used 102 grain again in my P380) Gotta remember kahr makes guns, remington, winchester etc, makes ammo for guns. soemtimes they just do not mate up perfectly in each and every gun . another reason why there are so many different brands and types out there. Buy a rohrbaugh R9 and they will tell you exactly what ammo to shoot, anything else and they will not guarantee it.
Be sure and let them know it does not feed Speer lawman ammo if u send it back. ot sure I would want to go 500 rounds without cleaning it either. Proves to me no point as if it is going to be your carry gun, you would want it clean at all times and lubed and ready to go. Just my opinion on that as u can carry anyway u desire.

Excellent point and advice, thanks!! I took a look and the Speer FMJ didn't look like it was hitting anything but its never the first round that fails to feed. I"m almost positive its the Speer ammo because I ran 400rds of Remington 115gr FMJ ammo thru it without a problem before this range session this morning. I gonna to let Kahr take a look at it just to remove all doubt. The PM9 is not my EDC yet so thats why I was going to let it get dirty without cleaning it. I am tempted to run a box of Remington FMJ thru before I send it off though, we'll see. My P380 wouldn't feed the Golden Sabers either so I returned it to Kahr. When I got it back it shot any & everything with no malfunctions.
