Guys,
What are your thoughts on Hornady TAP ammo for concealed carry? I bought some today based on some reading I had done. I have a Kahr P9.
Any good or bad thoughts??

I think highly of Hornady TAP. The bullet is tested and proven. I shoot the Hornady ammo well, it delivers good accuracy. It is very low flash in the 9mm. I carried it for years. Although I carry PDX1 now, that is primarily because I can find it. Either round in my gun is as good as it gets, IMHO.

The Hornady TAP was the "best" that the gun shop had on the shelf according to the owner, though he did not have many options. I got a spare mag pouch too. 16 rounds is better than 8.

Hornaday is good ammo. When I carry a 1911 thats what I have in it. I usually have Hydra Shok in my Kahr, but Hornaday works just as well.

I was just going to start a thread about Hornady TAP in 124 gr. So far it's the only JHP round I've found that I can slingshot into my P9 and PM9 from a full magazine. The projectile is tapered about like a FMJ round. Cases are nickel, the stats are good and around here (Denver) it runs $21 per box of 25.

is that similar to the corbon power ball, or is it just a nice rounded HP round. never see um around here..

Neither...I'd describe it as a truncated round, tapered, not rounded at all. It has always fed in every gun I've shot.

I paid $20.99+tax for the box of 25 I bought. 9mm 124 grain. Looks like the same bullet as the older hollow points from Hornandy I had but these have the nickel case not the brass cases my older stuff had.

Hornady changed the TAP FPD case from the black nickle in the photo to the normal shiny nickle. LEOs complained that the black nickle made press checks more difficult. Hornady responded.

I think the black nickel looks sexy. All jokes aside, Hornady from what I hear is some great ammo.
