Hi Matt, welcome to Kahrtalk neighbor. I'm over in Kansas. I have a CW40 and it's become my favorite CC weapon. I had a couple hiccups during break in, but I guess I was limp wristing it. The frame wouldn't go all the way back ready to fire and I'd have to give it a nudge with my thumb to get it ready to go. Never had a polymer frame pistol before and I guess they are more prone to malfunctions if you don't grip them properly. I'd mostly shot revolvers and my 1911 and a Beretta Cougar where a limp wrist won't cause as much trouble. A little adjustment to my grip, and putting my wrist in line with the direction of recoil seems to have cured the problem and it's been totally reliable since. You'd think that with over 40 years of shooting, that someone somewhere might have pointed out that I was not gripping my pistols properly, but at least I got it figured out.
I had a couple other guys shoot it and they had no problem, so I talked to the range master and he clued me in to the fact I was probably limp wristing and that polymer frame pistols are more prone to act up than steel framed pistols when not using a proper grip. Anyway, love my CW40, and I'm sure you'll love yours when you get it.
I see no one has directed you to Jocko's preparation and the lube chart that you'll probably want to check out when you get your pistol. They are in the Tech section right towards the top. It's a good idea to check those posts out before you shoot it. Once you get it, you'll can search threads for everyones favorite carry ammo, some very good suggestions there. I used Winchester White Box 165 gr FMJ ammo for break in, and it worked pretty well. Some folks say it's a little dirty, but I didn't think it was too bad. One ammo you might stay away from is Winchester Ranger 155 gr Law Enforcement ammo. That stuff hangs up in my CW40 when I try to eject a live round, the tip of the bullet is too wide to get thru the ejection port and is a real pain in the butt to get ejected. Enjoy your new weapon!

What other book is there? I couldn't find it so I asked my wife, she's really smart on some stuff. She said I was usually sorely lacking in this area so I assume it has to do with nasty stuff but she said the word is ok.
Peace out.

I traded a single action semi auto that I had carried for years, for a CW40 and I haven't looked back since. I loved my former gun and it was the first handgun that I ever bought. I'm not one who sells his guns and that is the only gun that I have ever sold. It was a huge move on my part to sell. Money was tight and I had made up my mind that if I was going to carry all of the time I needed something lighter. I had a heavy heart when traded in my .40 and bought the CW40. I had a couple (2) of FTL's during the break in period and that worried me a bunch. I listened to what these guys told me and I headed back to the range. Their have been no issues since. My CW40 is hands down the best carry gun that I have owned. I think that you will love it!
