Hello Everyone. I am thinking about getting ordering and installing my self the Fiber optic front sight for my CW 40. Does anyone have any exp with these? Are they the HI VIZ brand sight or the Firesight brand? Are they plastic or metal? Do they sight up more than the standard sight on the pistiol. Oh also can a clutz with no vise install this? Thanks:)

First off, I would recommend the Dawson Precision sight over any other. The fiber optic sight from them is a metal base with a fiber insert. It is specifically made as a replacement for the Kahr sight. It doesn't set up any higher than the factory sight and comes in 2 widths, which I prefer the .125 over the .105 wide sight. I didn't use a vise when I installed mine. Just set the sight between 2 old 1911 mags and taped it in place while I flanged the bottoms of the sight with the tool included in the package. Just go slow, be careful and READ the directions. It ain't rocket science.

Ok, I checked out the Dawson website and Thank you! Did yours from Dawson come with a red and a green insert? The one on the Kahr site says it does. So it sounds like you dont have a screw and nut to att. You flare out after inserted.

Is the Fiber optic site from the Kahr site and the Dawson site a nightsight? Does it glow in the dark? Thanks

My sight came with the red insert and a piece to replace it if it is damaged. No, it doesn't glow in the dark. You would need the tritium nite sight to get that effect. It isn't necessary but after I flared my sight into place I did put a drop of loctite around the edge of the flare just to be sure. The whole process is easy and the sight will come with the necessary tool and instructions. The only other thing you need is a small hammer.

Thank you jfrey for your information. I think I want the site that glows in the dark. I have Truglo on a glock that is fiberoptic and tritum. I think I'll get the Trijicon front sight only. The fiber optic sights sure are neat looking though!!!
