Well Top Shot had its first season. A second season is on the way of course.

However Discovery Channel is also planning a new show "Sons of Guns" about making custom guns. Check out the trailer:

Looking forward to seeing it tonight...It looks interesting and any TV show that features guns and shooting sports in a good light is good news for us all after all the negative stuff in the news this past month...

Yeah, I've been waiting to see what this show is all about. Right now, though, I'm watching the gun shows on Outdoor channel, while sipping my Capt'n Jack and coke. http://kahrtalk.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Awesome show!! Thanks for the heads up about it, as I didn't know it was premiering tonight. <commercial break>

that was a pretty good show, but I'd doubt it will make it past six episodes on the Discovery Channel. It would have been a welcome sight on the Outdoor Channel, but finding sponsors would have been a bit of a problem.

I want a Masterkey and a grenade launcher and his daughter, oops.

Kind of like American Chopper only with guns.

compared to a couple of the customers that walked in, she looks like a "big ol' gal" too. I wouldn't quibble over a couple bucks at the cash register...

pretty good show and it doesnt hurt that the daughter is cute. looks like she is tall & good lookin but there's something about a chick w/ a grenade launcher that scares the crap out of me! plus i wouldnt wanna piss her Daddy off seeings how he could probably build something that would make you disappear.

In hindsight I agree with eastenn, too bossy. Threaten to take a mans grenade launcher if he don't sell at least 3 masterkeys. Yup to bossy.
And of course while it's kind of hot a chick holding a grenade launcher it's also pretty scarey.

As for dad, my daughters previous boyfriends can relate to that. It's reported that they saw a bright light and a view of the afterlife in my presence. All show of course, I wouldn't hurt a fly.:lie::lie::lie:

Ohhh, I don't know; I get a little turned on by a chick holding a grenade launcher.......
But then again I've always been a little different. :der:

I liked the show and now I want a suppressed shotgun so I can quietly blast my neighbors cat off the planet next time I find it taking a huge crap right next to my truck door, and one of those master keys might come in handy as well sometime......Oh and I kinda like the daughter and I'll be more than happy to let her to launch my grenade anytime she wants to!!!...:D

a supressed shotgun would still leave a mess of cat in your driveway, worse than the poo..just suppress a .22 then pitch the carcass. maybe you weren't taking it that seriously

Yea but what fun would that be, besides it's hard to identify pink mist and with a garden hose you don't have to touch the mangy critter to dispose of the evidence.... :33:

I wish I could have the real "M203 Masterkey"

The 12-gauge Masterkey shotgun can be mounted under standard rifles as a breaching tool when used with special ammo. It is also mountable to KAC's Standalone Module. The system consists of a Remington 870 shotgun that can be mounted onto a M4 rifle in an under-barrel configuration. The shotgun has a 3 round capacity and should be only operated when attached to a host rifle or the Standalone Module.

The M203 and Masterkey is designed exclusively for Military and Law Enforcement applications.

The M-110 would be on my sort list as well.

Tell me that's not sexy...... I think the show will be ok as long as they stick to the gunmaking and leave the reality/soap opera type crap out of it. There was a motorcycle building show that was quite good to start but what it's morphed into has no appeal what-so-ever to me now.

The target on the shotgun was below 150 dB and they got it down to 143 and the guy was satisfied. That's not very suppressed... let alone "silenced". The .22 or subsonic 9mm or .45 is a better deal. I know a .45 can be silenced. I shot a silenced MAC 10 in .45 acp and all I could hear was the action of the bolt in full auto. The suppressor made a good grip and helped control the recoil... very manageable... for close work, anyhow.

you wont hear that from me! i do agree that while some personality in a show is a good thing i hope it doesnt turn into another "American choppers" where everyone is more concerned with the drama and now the show and their family life sucks.

The premiere had 6 million viewers - I'd say that's quite good for the show, but we'll see if they can hold onto us as viewers.

I liked the second show:

* 50 cal automatic
* flame-thrower! Yeah.
* Official WWII hero (Marine medal of honor winner)
* Daughter less bossy than last week

What's not to love?

As long as they stick to the guns and don't overplay the interpersonal drama like many annoying reality shows do, I think they'll be alright.

I forgot to watch it last night. Wednesday night is the only night of the week I even make an attempt to watch prime time tv.... Wednesday Night at the Range on the Outdoor Channel. Four hours of non stop gun stuff. It's hard to tear away from reality to watch pseudo-reality (unless the Outdoor Channel is in re-run stage)

i dvr'd it then watched it last night. even the wife liked it. i was very impressed with the M.O.H. Marine and liked how the owner of the company interacted with him. good show & that flamethrower was ******. thought it was funny too when that lady came in to buy a self defense gun and he scared the sh*t out of her & ended up selling her a .22 to get used to shooting.
