So I have too much time on my hands. Apparently my elite 9's just gave birth to young MK9. Took it out for the first time last night. I must say, It will take some time to get used to the 2 finger grip. My first impression was not to like it compared to the full size 9. This is only an opinion that will surely be met with lots of skepticism as so many people here love their PM9's but the 2 finger grip caused the gun to "jump" up and out of my hand a bit, even the ring finger would slip down below the grip. I don't care for the sharp grip checkering on my P9 or P45 but I almost think that it would help for the PM9. The MK is a bit too smooth and slippery to get a great grip on. This affected my follow up shot accuracy tremendously. Point being, if there is anyone on the fence between PM9 or P9 or the K equivalents and can only afford one not both, the P/K series definitely is a more natural shooter, less to think about concerning grip, etc. I'm sure with practice it will come but for the extra half inch in size I definitely would rather conceal the P/K and go for the better shot consistency. If you can afford both then by all means get them but if it's one or the other definitely try to practice with one first. For all you PM9 lovers if you have any grip suggestions, other than the Pierce extension, I'm all ears. Thanks.
OMG that's hilarious. Cracking up here.
and CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE my MK9. did you get the extended mag? That gives a little more grip room. I'm spot on with it.

I imagined a whole lot better photo op with barbie accessories and stuff but then I started to creep myself out a bit so I cut it short. You're right the extended mag helps tremendously but again it defeats the whole purpose of the smaller gun to begin with. Tried using my middle finger for a trigger but that didn't feel quite right either. The stainless is beautiful but it just feels real slick with the muzzle flip. I can imagine if someone broke in my house and I whizzed one by their ear saying "hold real still let me adjust my grip a bit here my gun is slippery". Just doesn't seem practical. But it made me appreciate just how big a bang for your buck you get with the p/k series. That extra half inch goes a long way and is still pretty concealable.
I don't carry it with the extended mag, I only use that at the range. It does help though.
I think you'll get used to it. It is scary accurate.

I had the MK9 and still have the PM9. Put wood grips that are checkered on it and it seems to improve the grip. Some people put on a rubber grip sleeve but I think it spoils the look of the gun. I have medium to large hands and have no problem. Just keep shooting it and you will get better with it. BTW you can get the wood grips from Kahr but also ask them to send you grip screws for the wood grips because the regular grip screws are about two threads too short.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely look into that as I don't want to just put it in a drawer and forget about it. Are the wood grips a lot thicker than the factory rubber ones?

What a lovely family, I hope mom is doing well. I was looking over the anatomy and was confused but believe the little one definitely looks like dad.
I'm hoping to get some Kahr frames sometime soon and then I might be able to help with them handles. I have an early model MK and the handles would still fit but the inside isn't right to fit the newer models.
The grips could be just as thin as the rubber ones or thicker, either way.
You could also order a set of grips from Kahr in smooth, see if they are the right thickness and feel and then I could just checker them if you think that would help.
I radiused off the lower rear corner behind the mag on mine also. Seems to feel better in my hand anyhow.

Hilarious! Thanks for the laugh. You've got one heck of a kahr stable going there...
I have the PM9 and the P40 covert (same 2-finger grip) and actually love them. I have no problems shooting them but I do carry the covert with the extended mag just because its just as easy to carry with the longer mag (I don't pocket carry the P40) and it gives me more to grab when I'm drawing the gun. As you know, the polymer grips have a lot more texture to them than the steel guns do so I imagine that helps alot.

I put the smooth grips on mine and they are definitely as bit fatter and it helps to get a tighter grip. I also ordered the polymer mag base from the 9MM line of mag bases and that also help keep your fingers on the grip and not let them slide down. You may have to sand the top of the mag base down just a bit as it makes for a tight fit against the frame and you have to slam it home at times if the base thickness isn't perfect.
I back pocket carry mine with a homemade holster and it just looks like a large wallet, So the wider wood grips don't have too much affect on conceal-ability and nor does the mag bases.

thanks I will definitely do that. You're right about the grip thing cause it should keep the ring finger in place and will probably be the most cost effective tip.

Wow I'm sorry to expose all the young pistols to that awkward misunderstanding. That's supposed to be a cigar like they hand out at the hospital in old fifty's movies when someone has a kid not a gun weiner. Back when you could smoke in all those places like airplanes, hospitals, schools, etc. I watched diehard 2 not long ago. What an anachronism, watching old John McClane smoking up on the plane, in the airport, carrying a gun around on the plane off duty.

Huh? I handed out stogies when all my kids were born. That wasn't the 50's was it? Only passed out suckers the girlymen that didn't appreciate a good smoke. Old John McClane does bring back good memories of the old days when you didn't have to get to the airport 3 hours in advance for a full body scan.
It's easier now days to visit the prison than get on a plane.
Interesting side note, my last son was born during the Clinton fiasco. Without thought we named him Clinton. I left him and mom at the hospital and went to a shop to get girlyman suckers (already had cigars) and the lady behind the counter wanted to know if I'd named him after the president.
I left my wallet and suckers on the counter and about blew up a new 75 Toyota getting to the hospital. The nurse who I knew well, since I was associated with 4 other babies in about a 10 day period, didn't cause em mind ya, saw me running and all sweaty and panicky. I asked if she'd processed the birth certificate. I made it in time and had her shorten it officially to Clint. She apologized for not helping me with my transgression.
The owner of the candy store arrived moments later with my wallet and now free suckers. I love America.

I do have a suggestion, I tried the pierce extension and did not care for them. Instead I ordered a K9/P9 type magazine base and that gave the little extra real state needed for my fingers (on my PM9).
The only thing that I've done since this pic is that I took a dremel to it and did away with the "lip".

Thanks CGO I plan on doing that it should give that ring finger a place to call home instead of slipping off the grip.

Never thought I'd see the term "gun weiner" on this, or any other, forum.
:typing: Never say never.

Congradulations on the new born!!
Now about the grips, I really REALLY wish Kahr would use the ones like on the K9, them wrap around rubber ones. I held one for the first time last weekend and man that sure would be nice on my MK.
I put a finger extention and a hogue grip on mine to try and help with the feel. Much better now but could had been a done deal with the grips like a K9... IMHO.
