I was in the market for a 9mm and picked up the Kel-Tec P11. I’ve put 300 rounds through the gun with 0 malfunctions but I hate the long trigger pull. A friend of mine has a Kahr CW9 that I was handling the other day and I felt that the trigger on the CW9 was smoother and a little shorter than my Kel-Tec. I’m a heart beat away from getting a Kahr CW9 maybe someone can give me just that little encouragement that will push me over the edge. I liked the looks of the Kahr, the why it felt in my hand, and what I can tell the price is not bad either. See, I’m right on the edge.
Thank you from and old Marine.

First welcome Devil Dog, second, why stop at 9mm? There are 40 and 45 to play with as well. Pick up the Kahr in whatever your chosen caliber is, it will serve you well. If it gives some fits at first, it will be made right. Most hit the ground running, and never need a trip back to the mother ship. Read jocko's proper prep sticky, and the lube chart, put a bunch of rounds through it, and enjoy.

I agree, go for it without reservation. Lots of guys here to help and share with you along the way.
If size is a big issue and the CW is a pretty nice size the new CM9 will hit the streets later this year. Even smaller and in the same price range.
My patience or lack thereof wouldn't allow me to wait that long though.

Consider this a gentle push or a brisk shove if it helps your cause.

Nice avatar, had a couple of those pins in my hands alot lately. Jlotts got em now.

If you want to go over the edge, shoot a kahr--your friend's or maybe rent one at the gun range. They shoot as good as they look and feel. Some say the Kahr has less felt recoil.

I’ve heard that, was told a 40 feels like a 9mm, and 9mm feels like a 380.

That could be for the cover (hat) for the dress blues. Remember the ones you just did for me were collar insignia.

As for the doubt on whether to get a Kahr or not, boils down to this: Do you want a weapon that feels good in the hand, performs well, and shoots better than many? Yes, get the Kahr. Oh and we will never discourage another gun purchase around here.

If you intend to shoot it on a regular basis, and don't have a problem with another $100-150, by all means get the CW9. I have owned (or still own) KT pistols in P-11, P32, P3AT and PF9, and the P11 and P32 were my favorites. They were designed for SD, and not range guns. The triggers suck, but the guns are fine for their intended purpose. The CW9, on the other hand is great for SD purposes as well as just all out fun shooter. I am totally sold on the CW9, and was the first day on the range with it. Excellent choice in a very affordable package.

No reason to wait any longer unless you want to take a chance on the CM9. I carried a KT PF9 for two years, then I bought a CW9. The PF was gone in two weeks! I've since switched to 45 and carry a PM45, but the CW9 is a great pistol.

Welcome Old Salt, We will have you set up with a Kahr in no time flat...I have a ported CW40 and it's my favorite pistol and has worked perfectly from day one...Now I'm hearing about a CM9 coming out and if its what I hope it is one will be riding in my front pocket soon with the CW40 carried IWB during colder weather under a light jacket... I think if you will shoot a Kahr side by side with your KT you will soon see the difference...Not that there is anything wrong with a KT at all but the quality, engineering and customer service of Kahr is hard to beat....:cheer2:

The CW/P 9 series is about the smallest, most accurate, "full grip size" pistol that I can think of. Virtually no recoil. It's kind of like killing zombies in a video game. Just click click click and bullets go wherever you intend them to.

Can you tell me a little about the CM9, and what would be a fair price for a new CW9?

Thank you

Old Salt. You don't have to have a Kahr to be welcome here (but you don't get the secret handshake until you do).
New CW9s are pretty easy to find for right at $400. Nice gun and great value.
Good luck

Bud's has recently lowered their price on the CW9 to $366.

The CM9 will be a smaller version of the CW9. Couple hundred less than the PM series with basically the same looks on the slide as the CW. A pinned front sight, probably a conventional rifled barrel, a sort of economy version of the PM9.

My guys that held it at SHOT said it was a nice little gun.

Old Salt....If you get yourself a K9 or K40 then you can join the "Men of Steel" club ....Now, like you need a better reason to get a Kahr ;)

I'm off to do my kettlebell work-out.

O man, we're going to have to change the title of this thread now. C'mon Old Salt, didn't you know this was going to happen!? Congrats on the decision, it's a fantastic gun.

Welcome to the forum Oldsalt. Unless you're absolutely sold on the 9mm platform, I'd see if there was some way you could test fire a CW40 or CW45. I test fired a friends CW45, which convinced me to buy a Kahr instead of a PF9, and it was a real pleasure to shoot. I ended up buying a CW40 because I wanted to share ammo with my other .40, but I find myself wishing sometimes that I'd bought the CW45 instead. Maybe when they get around to producing the CM series in 45, I'll have to pick one up. No way I'm parting with my CW40 to get the CW45, now that it's nice and broke in and very reliable.

Shortly after the purchase of my CW9, my P11 went bye, bye! Not that the Kel-Tec was a bad gun, but the Kahr feels and shoots so much better. I like the Kahr so much that I purchased a DLC K40 with night sights a couple hours ago!

You know, what you say really makes sense. I have a number of Glock 40’s with 1,000 rounds of 40 S&W ammunition on the shelf. I shoot my 40 cal Glock 22 at IDPA matches a couple times a month. The gun shop I deal with did not have a CW9 but he has a used CW40 for $399 (I think it was used). The only 9mm I have is the Kel-Tec P11 that I just picked up. Now I’m really confused but getting the CW40 makes sense plus it would feel better in a IWB holster. I love my Glocks but when I carry any of them I feel like It just got up from a big Thanksgiving dinner.

Stupid question: How does he wipe?

I thought I mentioned the 40 and 45 bit too, but what do I know.
