I currently own a CW9, which I'm very happy with, but I'm perplexed.
When I've searched sites looking at holsters, I noticed that CW9 was rarely listed, but P9 was. I did a comparison (from Khar site) between the two, and the "only" difference I can see is in overall length. CW9-5.9" P9-5.8" , and the weight, CW9 - 15.8 oz P9 - 15 oz There's also the price, CW9 - $549 P9 - $739 . What am I missing? Why would Khar make two models with such insignificant differences , but with almost $200 difference in price?

Also, does anyone know when CW9's came on the market?
Any info would be appreciated , Thanks.

The CW line hit the market a few years ago, perhaps in 2007, IIRC.

The CW an P models should fit the same leather holsters.

The CW line is an "ECONOMY" model, cheaper to produce, with a lower price point, more competitive, meant to be available to the bargain shopper willing to accept a model with less attractive features. The CW line has been a big hit by all accounts.

Ihave never read of a holster specifically for the P9 and one different for the cw9. No doubt in my mind they will both interchange. the cw series has to be kahrs biggest seller behind the PM9 and now with the cm9 coming out I predict the cm9 will surpass the PM9 in sales., If not it will be #2 very quickly for kahr and that will tellthem that they need to introduce the cm40 and cm45, which I have no doubth they will

Will be see a $200 less P380 model like a cm380????Makes sense..

The 200 bucks is not represented by the extra .1" or .8 oz it is represented by MIM parts as opposed to machined parts, bevel skides vs non beveled and double line large font engraving vs single line letters. I believe that the P9 has a polygonal barrel also.

All things that add value and also add cost. Some folks like the extras and are willing to pay for them.....some don't and are not willing. Why would Kahr want to loose either end if the market? They wouldn't so they make similar guns for 2 seperate conumsers.

The holsters are interchangable.

Actually, all the parts interchange. The front sights on the CW series are staked, and that is the only part that is not 100% interchangeable.
