All of the other forums that I am on seem to load faster than the Kahr Talk forum. Also, moving around in the forum seems to be much slower than the others. Is it just me or does anyone else seem to notice this?

It seems to be alot slower for me just lately than it used to be so Jocko's theory has at least one small hole in it.
I blamed it on my home computer but the work computer seems slower also.
Completely clueless about such things, I'm focusing on making big meaningful pictures. Tried the photo bucket thing but gave me a headache. I get confused easily on some of this technology mumbo jumbo.
Give me a tree stump anyday.

jocko - LOL - so if I post more, it'll get faster? Is this kind of like "practice makes perfect"? Since there now is a reloading forum, I'll probably be posting more. Don't really have any problems with my CW9 but do lurk in just about all of the forums. If I get over a 100 posts in the next few days, will the forum load faster?
Bawanna45cal - You are lucky that you can actually get to any site that has anything to do with guns, ammo, hunting, on line catalogs like Midway, etc. Where I work sometimes, any of these sites are automatically banned. Guess they think that people are going to go postal just by reading about hobbies. (OK and also CCW)
Guess I'll just have to live with it.

We're forbidden to visit auction sites, like gunbroker, ebay, craiglist and forums. That being said I found a pretty good deal on gunbroker on some 40 ammo, I'm gonna slip over to ebay and craiglist to do some comparison shopping.
Officers come to me alot looking for used guns, or wanting to sell their guns so gunbroker is a good research area to see what things are actually selling for.
Everyone except commissioned officers are forbidden to carry a gun on city campus too, so I figure 2 or more is plural and hence not a "gun".
I completely obey all laws that make a tiny bit of sense and fully ignore all rules that are created by 6 figure income morons that dont have enough sense to come in out of the rain.
Dang if I didn't know better I'd say somebody pushed my buttons.
Gotta go now, headed over to Amazon to do a little on line shopping.
Ta TA.

What's wierd (that doesn't look right) is that ebay and other auction sites are OK for some of the companies that I work for. I'd try gun broker just to see if they (the company's computer/server) will let me get on it. Probably not because it has "gun" in it.
Strange idea, not sure if this will work but here goes. Some of the gun forums have a nanny program that blocks certain words. One of which is "****". I can see that excluding some profane words is a good idea but **** as in "**** the gun"?
Just rambling now. Got to go. The nurse says that the "other" patients want to use the computer.
Added after post - OK this forum also has a program similar. The word is c0ck

Most of those programs apparently don't take into account context. I think Dietrich is the cause of that.
Around here we prefer to say Dont slam the door on my Richard.
What a hysterically funny world we live in.

No problem, I can live with it (or at least work around it)
Don't forget - His other name is Richard Head
BTW - I've made about 7 or 8 posts tonight and it is still not faster :(

I am not seeing this at all, even on my cell phone and it is much slower than my broadband connection. I am not sure what to tell you. If it is on the server end, it would be slow for all of us as that would affect with its response to queries and that would be independent of connection speed.

I think it's on the members end. Mine varies from day to day at home. Somedays its really fast and some days it's not worth logging in, its so slow. At work it seems to be more consistant and fast. Same with email and internet stuff.
I think my ISP, thats Internet Service Provider for you fellas what fell out of a turnip truck (just like me) isn't the best but the only game in town. Still faster than dial up ever was.
I think computers are like garages, never fast enough or big enough.

It's all of those flashing banner ads at the top of the page. When you go to a new page it has to reload them all over again.
You can eliminate the ads to improve page loading time. I did. :)
Now my page looks like this:

Is this something a computer challenged derelict used to be carpenter can accomplish without 4 bottles of Advil or should I just get used to slow?
I'm sure the sponsors wouldn't like this much but I know em all and I think we all do so if it makes things faster, it's gotta be a good thing.

Yes! You can do it. If you are on Firefox download the add on called "adblock plus". Install it and then right click on each ad and choose "block image". They will be banished forever.

I knew it was gonna be too big. I don't know what Firefox is. Is it like another form of Google?
I might try it at home, I better now try anything magical with this computer at work. They get all overwrought when I mess up the IT people trying to figure out what I broke.
I'll give it a whirl at home, when I break stuff there it's just broke till I talk somebody into fixing it. Usually the wife and kids break it before I do so I gotta try and fix it. I'm terribly tech challenged. Definitely born 100 years too late.

I had updated my AVG Anti-Virus (Free but good) and inadvertently just told it to do the default install. Following that all my first pages to a forum were slow because it was scanning them in the background. Once I disabled that feature all was well again.
I haven't found Kahrtalk to load slower than any others.

I don't mean to brag but I found a icon on my screen that said Mozilla Firefox so I bravely pushed the button and low and behold I got Firefox on my work crystal ball.
If that isn't just enough to startle the wits out of ya I even followed racudas instructions and found adbloc and got it in there and presto slam a jamma no adds.
Don't know for sure if it's faster yet on account of ain't much going on right now but I'm gonna try it for awhile. Now I'm trying to make it my home page but darned if I can finger out out to do that. Usually it begs and ask if thats what I want but no so this time.
I'm also noticing that it has spell check when I'm on Firefox.
Don't mind telling ya I'm feeling pretty confused but very worldly right about now. Looks like I might even be able to use the internet for work stuff without it closing out my kahrtalk. That's a good thing.

Downloaded the Firefox but made a mistake and blocked all adds/photographs. It is working much faster now that the adds are not being reloaded. Just have to figure out how to get the photos back!
BTW - having the spell check is great! Extra bonus.
Got the photos back!

Never ever had a problem with the Kahrtalk site. Always loads fast. Firefox is great. Also like the new add on Do Not Track Plus. Don't like all these companies ad agencies, social networks following me around.
Sure you guys aren't downloading porn or something? Makes your computer slow and gives you hairy palms.

This is an old thread/post but I'd like to know if the same can be done using when using Google? I did try but lost to many other features in addition to ads. Firefox doesn't work well on my laptop.
