My CW40 which is my new best friend has not even cooled down from my last trip to the range and I’m already thinking of a CW45. What is wrong with me? Did I pick up some kind of disease when I bought my first Kahr? That’s it, there must have been some kind of bug in the gun box when I first opened it. I’m afraid to think how much the antidote will cost me. Has anyone else been stricken, and is there a cure? I better not tell my wife, she may quarantine me to the couch. ;)

I have the cure for it but you must send me your CW40 and 100 rounds first and then I will check the gun over to see that it is not the culprit for ur desease and after 100 rounds, if it checks out OK will send it back with the cure, But if I find it is the gun causing the desease to "SPREAD". then I am sorry but I will have to keep it quaranteened, but I will keep you posted as to how it is doing in rehab.!!!

Nice thing about this fourm is that WE ARE ALWAYS TRYING TO HELP!

You have been infected with Kahr-itis. It's a well know disease that come from exposure when you first fire a Kahr brand gun. There is no known cure but you can live with the disease as long as you take regular trips to the firing line and add a new Kahr to the stable at well place inervals in your life.

The initail infection is the worst. Once you add a second Kahr to the safe the intervals between the illness and the next dose of relief becomes greatly increased. But beware, it can be a life long struggle treating Kahr-itis.

Just explain to the wife that you must satisfy the craving or you will get to the point where she won't be able to communicate with you as your mind will be held captive by your desire for relief from your disease. If you relate it to the desire that she gets for a new pair of shoes she should be supportive and understanding.

:p

Let us know how that works out for you.

There is no cure. It is an addiction that must be served!

OMG... me exactly!

I've started selling off my handguns and collecting Kahrs... I'm very self-defense minded and almost every gun I buy is bought with concealed carry in mind.

I've quickly switched over my 'stable' from various brands (Ruger LCP, Kel-tec PF9, Glock 26/27/36, Kimber UC) to Kahr (TP9, P380, P40 covert, PM9, PM45)... and all I can think of is how to justify more (T9, K9)... Itis truly a sickness...

My wife dont communicate with me now, and supportive and understanding are not in her vocabulary. And I want a T.
I think I'm doomed.
Old Salt, it's effected you quicker than most but you've definitely got a serious affliction there as the others have mentioned.
The 45 is just a natural evolution for all sheep dogs. It's just gotta happen, might as well accept it, take your lumps and let the shell casings fall where they may.
Lots of us around here have it, I have it for everything that goes bang, I want them all. Your not alone. We're there for ya buddy.

Perfect example about teaching an old dog new tricks. Her I am talking about my CW40 and even mentioning a CW45 and I should be posting them on, P and CW Series Pistols. Sorry guys. :o

Your ok, (who am I to identify ok?) we're a little flexible here and general discussion covers alot of territory. Since your not focused for sure on what the next bug that bites ya is, general discussion might be the right place.
Those other areas are ideal for issues regarding that specific model.

if you try to come off this addiction cold turkey you're gonna have a KAHR-crash. It happened to me. One day I awoke with chills and they went away only after I wrapped my hands around a CW9. I told my friends, "Just once or twice. It won't happen to me." Before I knew it, the double dose of PM9/CW9 no longer brought me peace. Torment soon followed and I connived, stole and stashed away my daughters milk money to feed my habit.....and a CW45 stilled the ache in my soul. If (when) the devil rises up again, where will I go? What's next for me? Help.......

There is a cure, but it's costly. You must buy at least 1 of everything for you, then 1 of everything for her. Make her a shooting buddy, take loads of SD classes and shoot in competition. Then of course there's reloading, the next stage of the disease with it's own unique symptoms. Don't leave out the gun safes, hardening your house, night vision goggles, bug out bags. Sigh.... it's a tough one to beat.

Well you now know why we don't discourage new gun purchases. BTW there seems to be crack, bunny juice of some sort, and fried chicken grease built into the frames of Kahrs. Just like the tater chips you can't have just one, they are highly addictive, and they multiply, sometimes quickly too.

99% of kahrs are good to go with just pulling the trigger. That is when they become addictive. They are cool looking guns, They are small, they are light, they are simple made, they are accurate (for some). They are built like a tank and if you love guns , one kahr is definitely not enough.

I see that with Glock owners. They a half dozen or more, some duplicates even..Since I have owned kahrs, I have read alot and I mean alot and I do believe the secret of 3 years ago is now out. Kahrs are great guns, Kahrs right now are the finest ccw gun on the market. Kahrs are selling like hot cakes. and my prediction is that the cm9 will end up being kahrs best selling semi, out pacing the PM9...

It's something in our DNA as humans and specifically men that require us to collect as many tools as possible. I imagine it was a positive things when we were hunting mammoths, etc. Now it just causes us to collect tools that we don't "need".

Not sure if your disease is similar to mine, but once I get enough of a single type (I feel set of poly/striker pistols for now). I've moved on to revolvers for a couple years and now to steel frame 9mm pistols. Getting close to fixing that itch and now I have my eyes on some bolt guns....guess it will never end.

LG - you are absolutely spot on.... the concept doesn't ever end for me either... it just shifts to different hobbies.

I told my wife I wanted to get into model railroading, the look on her face was not one of support or happiness.

We think our gun addictions never end, mine sure don't but railroading, you can put a ton into it and never get all you want........................

I feel for you Old Salt. I've been wanting a CW45 ever since I brought home my CW40. My only saviour is that the CM9 is coming out this spring, and I'm hoping they follow that up with the .40 and .45 models, so I'm just biding my time to see what goes on with the CM line. I could use a little smaller pistol for summer and I think that that a CM45 would fit the bill nicely. Still, I just can't get that thought of a CW45 out of my head. <sigh>

I own a CW45 and really want a .40. My wife cringes everytime I go to the LGS so I'm really trying to wait for the CM40 to come out. I'm already shaking a little so not sure I'll be able to wait that long. Somebody should start a clinic of some sort. This is just too hard to do on my own.

oh I think if you start to grow a beard it might hit the floor before you see a cm40, but I do think it will happen sooner than later. My guess and it is just a SWAG to, is Sept. of this year. One has to know it is in kahrs plans if the cm9 works out great, as we all think it will.

Yeah Jocko, I think the CM9 is gonna be a huge seller, as long as they keep the price compareable to the CW line. I just wonder what will become of the CW line. Do you think it will continue to do well in the market or do you think Kahr will phase it out?

Bawanna
01-31-2011, 11:32 AM
I think there will always be a CW line. The MK model didn't put an end to the K model. Some prefer that next step up in size.

I think the CM is gonna certainly slow down sales on all the other models of similar size and will really dig into the PM market but they will survive as well. Some prefer the little added touches and are willing to part with or have the funds to pay for it.

I wonder if they ever tried to make a K45?? A lot of people would love to have an all-steel Kahr .45. I know I would, though the wait would probably be longer than it was for my night-sighted P380 that I ordered when they started selling the regular ones... and waited 11 months to get the one that I prepaid... and return it the next day because the front sight was DOA! Probably TWO years for the DLC model with night sights... and maybe a Laser Grip....
I played with the Springfield and my laser boresighter... fun trying to keep the dot still.
