Thats what I went with on my PM45 but I'm trying to find something to confirm that. I know several other are left to right.
Wonder if a good caliper could measure the top of the dovetail accurately enough to tell for sure.
I think your right but I sure don't want to just take a guess. I know thats what I did on mine.

Just googled it and it took me to that other forum place but there were 2 guys using sight pushers pushing off L-R and on R-L so I think I'm right.

I micro'd it and the left side is .280" and right is .307" so I'm going right. I've read where they are a bear to get off. Wish me luck.

All fingers crossed. Solid vise, go to steel punch if the brass deforms too much. Never give up!

Gee, I was going to do it the hillbilly way - hold it between my knees and whack it an old rusty screwdriver....

Thats what I meant. Good and solid. If ya ain't got a hammer a fairly straight railroad spike works pretty good in a pinch. I got a bunch of rusty screwdrivers iffen you want to borrow one.
Get r dun.

Oddly, the front sight on my PM45 was the bugger bear. One of the tougher ones I've ever encountered in many years of playing with guns.

Mine too. The back was much easier than I anticipated the front doesn't have a lot of area to smack on and it's tighter than heck. Need a pretty small rusty screwdriver on those.
My K40, now that was a bugger on both ends.

What kind of rusty screwdriver did you use, Craftsman?
I guess soaking the area with WD40 wouldn't hurt, either.

I mostly use imports. I think of them as Mercedes, BMW, Porsche screwdrivers. They don't have no markings mostly. The ones that do I can't read. They look like little pictures instead of letters????
Work pretty good, easy to bend into any shape you need. Even got some really long one for roasting marshmellows and hot dogs. General all purpose tools.
Kroil works really good for soaking and getting stuff loose. Good stuff.

Done, easy. Vise, 2 pieces of wood, punch and a hammer. 6-7 firm whacks. Sight channel is clean and smooth. Used penetrating oil and let it soak for an hour.
Front sights might be a bit more difficult. Haven't decided on them yet.

No new words or colorful language. No collateral damage to the slide or buggered up kitchen drawer screwdrivers. So you just did the back and haven't tackle the front yet huh.
I might try the oil next time myself that just might help a little bit.

I hate to admit it but I actually used the tool that came with the replacement sight and a small gunsmithing hammer.
I would normally have used an 18 in. pipewrench and a 4 lb. hammer but I couldn't get a good grip on the sight with the wrench. Any good 30 wt. motor oil should do the trick.

Now see the issue with the front sights - edge is angled some on left, more flat on right. So you get a flat surface to pound them on, but an angled, rounded edge to beat them off.
I'll have to hit some garage sales tomorrow looking for just the right screwdriver or chisel. Or I guess I could just whack it up by the dot. Might bust it off. Better grab a fresh tube of super glue just in case...

My bad! I don't much like being called sir except at work when theres some dirt bag at the counter trying to con me into letting him slide on something he's suppose to be doing in order to get whatever he wants.
I guess it sounds better when they are groveling.
How do you wish to be addressed? Were you a sir once? I dont think I ever been a sir.

I chickened out on replacing the sights on my CW9. When I called Kahr to order the newly released Trij sights, Ian (the old one) told me that the Kahr sights were about as tough to properly change out as Kimber sights. All I the encouragement I needed to ship the slide to him:o
So, how did the reinstall and alignment work out on the new ones?

u did right, let the people who put the sights in take care of it. I had to buy a sight pusher to do anything to any of my 3 kahrs..
