I got my new Beveled PM9 today... nice.:) It's approx 1/8" longer than my old style PM9, all other dimensions appear unchanged.
When compared to my new Beveled PM40, the new Beveled PM9 is maybe a couple hundreths shorter in length, about 4/100" narrower, and a couple hundreths shorter in hieght overall... the slide is a lil bigger in all three dimensions ... only miniscule though. ;) About the same as the old PM40 vs. the old PM9.
No pix yet, sorry. :o
I LOVE these PM model pistols!:D

someone here has some nice photo measurment of the different. I think it was around.20 longer, not much but I still question WHY. I like the old style far better, just my opinion. be sure when you decide to order recoil assembly for the new and old style tha tyou call kahr and tell them what model you are asking for. The recoil assemblys will not interchange.
I recently had a poster ask me about he poygonal rifling in a used gun that he bought and he thought maybe it was shot out. There is a looks difference between polygonal rifled barrels and standard rifled barrels. If one will google up Polygonal rifle barrels it will go to a wilkepeid and there is a super nice photo of each type side by side. I tried to post that photo to this fourm but had no luck. (I just am not good at doing that crapola, I guess)..
I think it would be very intersting to those who want to learn more about the in's and out's of polygonal rifled barrels. There is a nice long description and talk about it there to.

Thx Guys!:)
I don't have one of those nifty lil scales, but, it feels as though the old & new PM9s weigh about the same, both loaded and otherwise ... although I'm certain the new length must add a little. ;)
Comparing the newer PM9 vs. the newer PM40, both loaded and otherwise, the PM40 definitely feels heavier, ... about like the published difference between the older versions of each, not huge but noticeable.
Why they changed? My guess ... just updated styling.:2rolleyes: ... kinda like they update car models, etc. I also have a PM45, the beveling is slightly different on each. If you look at pix of each (Gunbroker has 'em) comparing where the beveling starts/stops with reguard to the front portion of the polymer frame, ... you'll notice the differences between the PM9, PM40, & PM45. IMHO, when comparing all 3, the better esthetics award goes to the PM9, ... but then again, I LOVE the old "WOOD BURNIN'" model too !!!:D Cheers! :)

TUCSON mtb:
thank you, ur da man!!! I have read where some think there are no rifling in their gun or it is worn badly. Polygonal rifling is not the kind of rifling that we are normally used to seeing. It is IMO easier to now understand to how polygonal rifling will increase velocity of that particular gun also. I do believe when kahr states they have finest grade barrels on their guns they are certainly referring to the Walther/Lothar barrels, . Just not sure one can buy any better made quality barrels than Lothar.
RONDO. I seriously doubt if it adds a 1/4 to a half ounce more, but you gotta consider you have a longer barrel, also and recoil assembly besides the slide somaybe it would be close to 1/2" ounce, sure not a deal breaker either. the PM40 has to be heavier as the slide is wider also, again not much difference , and certainly much lighter than any other brand maker out there to..
My thanks again to Tucson mtb:

First post here,
I have a new beveled slide PM9 on order that should be in my hands by next weekend. I'll be sure to post up weight stats once it arrives. Looking forward to joining the Kahr Owners' Club.

Thank you very much for the warm welcome. I've already located Jocko's prep guide and intend to take the new PM9 through the full process. I don't have a dremel for the high polish jobs but will do the best I can with what I have.
I'm looking forward to getting a weight on the PM9. My current carry rig is a Glock 29SF, IWB carried with a Crossbreed holster. I love the set up but wanted to add some versatility to my carry options by acquiring something a bit more compact and lighter. I'm interested to see what the total weight difference will be between the two fully loaded. If anyone has the weight for a Minituck I'd be interested to know what it is as well.

My bet your PM9 fully loaded will come in around 20 ounces (7 rounds) My melted and stippled PM9 with the right ammo comes in a tad over 18 ounces but with 7 rounds and 124 gold dots it rest a tad over 19 ounces. An ounce here and an ounce there you will not notice when your down in such a lightweight gun anyhow.
a dremel is not needed but works faster. some auto grit paper of 900+ and abouve willdo just fine, just takes a tad longer. Just roll is up to and do the chamber and breech face, can't hurt a thing...

As promised, I weighed my new beveled slide PM9 and it's hitting the scales at 15.1 oz, making it 1.1 oz heavier than the previous version. I'm very impressed with the overall fit an finish as well as the balance of this little pistol. Looking forward to starting the break in procedure soon.

I am a bit surprised at that considering it's been out since October/November. There isn't even any information or pictures mentioned about the new design on the Kahr website.
