some type of coating put in my PM9 about 3 years ago by Accurate-iron.com.
It has never shown one sign of wear and I pcket carry it 234/7. I had to have it done when I had the slide melted by him. His work is super, he can do about any color, I think. Yo can pull my phote of on this fourm under Jockos custom PM9. I call his finish onnmine a kinda dark titanium finish. I love it and I can't believe how it worn so super either.

I think that Mike at Accurate Iron uses Duracoat, and does a great job.
I haven't refinished a Kahr, but have done several others: NP3 by Robar (http://www.robarguns.com), hard chrome, Cerakote (http://www.nicindustries.com/firearm_coatings.php?phpMyAdmin=v085d1Xlej-S9bKII5j2WIDX6m5), etc. Ion Bond (http://www.ionbondguncoatings.com)is what Sig uses, but calls it Nitron, and S&W does use it on some stainless cylinders. I like hard chrome by Ford's Gun Refinishing (http://www.fordsguns.com), but perhaps the best quality job I've ever received was CeraKote by Customized Creationz (http://www.customizedcreationz.com). I'm going to send my S&W PC1911 to be refinished in by Todd in Cerakote soon - check out his website for great examples of his work. He also does awesome laser engraving.
