OK, so let me say up front that this thread is so not original. I shamelessly ripped it off of a local MD state gun forum. But it was funny.

At first I thought there was no way you'd find a lot of ugly guns. Guns are guns, right? Boy was I wrong. Folks posted some really truly hideous guns. And the posts kept coming and coming and coming.

Thought I'd post a sample of those photos over here, in case ya'll are interested too and have similar uggo pictures to post.

Thanks aray. That sampling goes off the lethality chart in deadly ugliness. Makes me appreciate and admire my gun collection even more.

The first one looks to be a Kriss (as in Kriss submachine gun) Super V system sub-assembly with some do-dads attached to it.
The second, as noted, is an MP5K
The third is a Steyr-Pieper Pistol
The fourth is an AR with a U-15 stock (to make it legal with magazines in Cali)
The fifth is a Bergmann Simplex Pistol

Sorry but I think these are ugly. Attack me all you want.Darn, thought I put you an my ignore list when you posted something similar in the 1911 forum:)
Just kidding, I know there's no accounting for tastes.:hippie:

It's the whole ugly is to the eye of the beholder thing. That first one don't do anything for me but the rest are ok. Weird but ok. I'm into off the wall different stuff.

I guess it goes well with my personality.

Thanks GB for filling in the blanks, you obviously got a lot stored up there in the cranium area.

I think my C9 would win going away. However, I will say that it has never failed and has been residing in my glove compartment for 3 years. I take it out occasionally, shoot a couple of mags, and clean and lube it. It may be heavy and ugly, but it's reliable and indestructible, and I don't have to look at it often.

Wow, I just now got that after you mentioned that, went back to read. I thought he said they not these.

I think a 1911 next to a Colt SAA is about the most beautiful assembly of metal I've ever seen myself.

Maybe I'll find that 1911 forum and post that just to see what happens. I'm bored and looking for action.

Naw, not so much Bawanna. I stand corrected on the first one (unless the the following video is fake); it appears that it is just not a sub-assembly, but a prototype of the Kriss submachine gun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGdhHZLN9-s

See post #9. Ugly? no question; Heavy? like an anchor; Reliable & tough as nails? definitely. I also have a 995 9mm carbine that runs just as well and is a lot of fun to shoot. These are my only 9mm guns, but I wouldn't take twice what I paid for them. Do you think I want to throw one of my SIG's, HK's, S&W's or 1911's in the glove box to rattle around?

I am truly enamored with the KRISS Super V System. For over 100 years guns have followed the same technology and suffered the same issues. The Kriss V breaks the mold and actually solves a lot of those issues. This video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnKd6iXHTQg&feature=related) shows how - but you've probably seen it.

If you think about it, handgun designers say their design is revolutionary when they move the recoil down 1/4" but still use the same conceptual design. Some however tinker with the design itself like the revolver that puts the barrel on the bottom of the cylinder, or the pistol still in design that houses a long barrel in a short frame and feeds very differently. It's not more of the same but out of the box thinking.

I say good for them!

WW2 attempts to allow infantry to shoot around corners without exposing themselves. The intense friction wore the barrels out very fast, and the muzzle velocity was beyond poor.

Hence why we have things like Viagra to straighten the shaft out where it should be, and when we need to get really, really crafty, we can break out the ***** cat.

That Hitler Clinton 1911, is fo shor the ugliest gun it has been my displeasure to lay eyes upon. Bawanna, there is a special place in Hell for some one who would color a 1911 ugly like that, and the lowest level for some one who would commission those grips. The one who made that particular set should commit sepiku, and not have a second to finish the job. As for the owner of that abomination, draw and quarter. I am a firm believer that dumb ass actions should have dumb ass consequences, and those actions deserve pain, and lots of it. Here is me now taking a cheese grater to my minds eye trying to get that image out.

Did you smear grape jelly on the grip of your Glock? It's so shiny and it looks like it would be sticky.

Bawanna

The first stuff I tried really was shiney and 10x uglier. This stuff isn't sticky at all but flexible and an excellent grip.
I've thought of taking it off and trying again but ugly as it is it provides a good grip and being a night stand gun, its not like I have to wear a sack over my head driving around with a Glock on my hip.

It's definitely a different thing. Sorely lacking in asthetics but kind of cool just cause it's different.

Any idea how that triple barrel revolver that was posted works. I'd like to have one of those just on account of I never seen one and it's weird. I like weird.
Hard to tell from the pic but it almost has to fire 3 shots at a time, be darn hard and a timing nightmare to revolve inside a revolver.

Here's a description of the operation of that revolver:
"On the back of the strap is a switch, center position will hit the inner circle, left position six hits skipping one in the outer circle and after pushing to the right the firing pin will hit the remaining six cartridges."

I'm nominating you as the smartest man alive. I don't know how you find all this interesting stuff so quickly.

Now with your last info the barrels also coincide with the firing pin so switch right uses right barrel, left, left barrel and down the lower barrel.

Makes me want one even more. And a break top to boot. Color me totally intrigued.

Guess I'll have to settle for a Schofield which is rapidly approching the top of my want list.
