Hi everyone. I'm brand new to Kahr Forum and I just wanted to share my recent experience with Kahr customer service.
I bought a used (but in excellent condition) MK-40 2003 Elite about 6 months ago. When I bought it, I noticed a tiny casting blemish on the top of the slide (just in front of the rear sight). It was a tiny little cavity, so it didn't bother me so much at first. After shooting about 300 rounds thru the pistol, I noticed a similar cavity on the outside of the barrel. It also wasn't very noticeable, but I became concerned about the structural integrity of these items. Then... upon detail strip of the gun I noticed that the plating was flaking off of the firing pin.
I called Kahr customer service and talked to Jay. I explained to Jay the issues (above). I told him that this was an older pistol, and that I wasn't the original owner. He told me to send back the barrel and slide for inspection.
Fast forward- two weeks later: FedEx delivered a brand new barrel and complete slide assembly yesterday- NO CHARGE; no questions asked. I am very impressed how Kahr stood behind their seven year old (or so) product. I essentially have a brand new MK-40 Elite.
