I started a thread in the K series forum about using skateboard tape on my K9 front strap. I'm particular and don't like to improvise all that much plus skateboard tape isn't the texture I was looking for.
Anyway  why I'm starting this thread....many years ago I had a PF9 and I had used some kind of stick on grip that fit/felt excellent and adhered like steel to the grip. For the life of me I could not remember what this grip was called or where I got it from. Finally I got smart and went back to the KTOG forum and did a search..low and behold I did talk about the stuff.
The product is called Traction Grips (http://www.tractiongrips.com/). This is a very good stick on grip, its very thin and hardly changes the feel of your pistol. I'm posting here because I see they have added Kahr to their product line up.

We now have grips for most Kahr models, including CW9, CW40, CW45, P380, Kahr PM9, and PM40!Here's a pic of it on my old PF9, I'm getting some for the front strap of my K9.

Thanks very much for posting this. I've been looking for a solution like this for the slick scales of a couple metal Kershaw Leeks. I didn't know they came out with the cut your own blank sets. I'd also like to do the front straps on a few different pistols.

3 universal sets ordered. Can't beat that price and I'll be sure to post some of my handiwork once I have a chance to butcher them up.

PaiN,
WOW! This looks like a great option at an excellent price. I currently have Agrips on my PM and they are holding up very nicely even with daily pocket carry. I also put it on the mag bases to cover the shiny stainless. However, I am going to remember this thread for future, just in case I am looking for something new to try out. Their burl wood grain material looks really cool. Lots of different colors (clear, black, gray, etc...).

I checked out their site, but could not figure out how this goes on the grip...specifically, how much of the grip gets covered. It looks like you have it on the front of your CTL's trigger guard where it overlaps the grip...but I can't be sure from the photo. Did you cover the CTL on-button? I wonder how much it covers the Kahr's grip?

How well does this grip material do with sweaty hands?
Thanks

I really like the pre-cut grip panels from these guys. I have the sandpaper type on a G19 and the "pebbled" rubber grips on my PM9. They've been on for a long time and both guns see heavy carry use. They have never shifted or slid in the slightest.

We have a bar? Do you gotta be like a special senior status for admittance? A bar is good.

Here's the Traction Grip job....I'm not adding any more and going "tape crazy" with the stuff. This gives exactly the effect I wanted and it'll do fine until I get it stippled. I carefully cut a paper template, then the grip. I prepped the surface with alcohol followed by Gun Scrubber, then applied the grip, pressed in the bench to effect the bond ...done.

I should do that with my MK9.

Me too. That looks great and just the right amount of texture to help the grip surface.

Got my kits yesterday and did my first project applying a strip to the side of one of those new-fangled aluminum wallets. Trimmed it up with an exacto knife and prepped the area with alcohol before totally getting the strip on crooked. It will be fine for this application and it was good practice before attempting the front straps of my CZs and 1911s. It should go on much easier than the really thick 3M stuff I am currently using.

That little strip of Traction Grip makes a big difference. Its so thin I feel no change in the grip, other than a better hold and more positive draw. The rubber texture is also a perfect blend with the K9's Hogue grip..this was totally unintended, but I can't say I'm unhappy about it ;)

I bought my first firearm a P9 last Friday and today I made and installed custom grips! Total cost to me $0.00 ! Very nice guy at my local ACE hardware store gave me three feet lol because it was already cut. They sell it by the foot off a roll and its made by 3M. Awesome tape! texture is sweet feels great! best of all its $1.50 a foot, 2" wide but have some that is 4-5" wide I believe. Anyway I made paper templates (took 5 min) traced the design to the back of the 3M tape and cut them out. After a dry fit for each piece I cleaned the grip with alcohol swabs patted dry. Use a hairdryer to heat the tape and stick on! Easy as that! Here are the pictures. Now its on to field test them. can't wait!

Shot my first 200 rounds yesterday through my new P9. The grips held up great and felt even better. The P9 performed flawlessly! I ran 100 rds 115gr Winchester white box and 115gr Federal ball ammo with no problems! My Speer Gold Dot 124gr +P come in tomorrow can't wait to run some of that as well.
