Just picked up a new CW9 and took it to the range today.

Put about 120 FMJ rounds through it (115g federal and WWB) with no problems and 4 mags of 124g gold dots. Had one FTfeed with the gold dots but considering the pistol isn't fully broken in and it was at the end of the shooting session, I was pretty impressed.

Plenty accurate and easy to shoot. Very happy I got the less expensive CW9.

The only thing I don't like about it is the long trigger reset but with some more training it will be OK. I have shot Glocks for so long (CCW/IDPA/Training etc...) that I short stroked the trigger a couple times when firing off some quick double/triple taps. The trigger has a nice feel to it when firing, I just wish the reset was shorter.

I still need lots more rounds down range and a nice AIWB kydex holster before I will carry it but I was very pleased with how well it went the first time out.

Congratulations, I think that in a very short time period you will be very happy with the CW9. I both a P380 and the CW9. You will get use to the trigger reset. I do alot of dry fire practice with both pistols and the trigger does get improve as time goes on.

The really long trigger pull does take some getting used to. I've heard from others the intent is to reduce accidental firings in a stress situation. When the adrenaline is pumping you won't have any problem squeezing the trigger. On the other hand it avoids nervous twitches that otherwise could lead to a mistake.

I've also heard that it is a side effect of the patented integrated safety, where the Kahrs have a striker pin block in place that other guns do not have, which moves out of place as the trigger is pulled back.

So two birds with one stone?

I'm sure other more experienced Kahr owners will have additional thoughts on the matter as well.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Kahr, High Altitude. In case you haven't come across it yet, and although you seem to be an experienced shooter, I'd head over to the Kahr Tech section and hit up the lube chart thread and the proper prep for your Kahr - good info there.

As for your issue about the long trigger reset, you're not alone. Quite a few go through your experience of getting used to the longer trigger. To the regulars, I really wonder if Kahr's ever at least thought about making a shorter reset trigger at least as an option. I'm not sure if it's even possible with their design, but by how many mention that the marketing people at Kahr might think it'd be good to at least consider thinking about it!
