First time this happened to me!

So after a couple good rounds of target practice, I had enough brass to be cleaned. I placed it in my tumbler with the lyman green corncob media and let it run for about 10 hrs ( while I was away at work ). This is a little bit longer then i usually let it go normal is about 6 hrs for me. The brass came out very dull looking, clean no doubt but the finish was not so great. Seeing this as a potential problem with feeding, I sifted the brass and ran it for another 4 hrs with the treated walnut lyman media. The result was alot better looking than before. I guess i had it in my head that you couldnt over do it with tumble cleaning... WRONG!!!! so here you go learn from my mistake and be safe.:75:

I don't use the high priced media anymore.

Plain old "critter litter" (crushed wallnut) from Petsmart and a cap full of NuFinish does the job in about 3 to 4 hours (or longer if you forget). That 10 lb bag lasts a looong time!
