I wish I could pocket carry, but I wear Wranglers & barely have room for my truck keys. LOL
How many of you pocket carry?

Pocket carry only when I have to due to dress code of what I'm involved in: I.E. Tucked shirt and no outer/cover layer. The Blackhawk pocket holster #1 is a thin, supple neoprene-like material with minimal coverage of the slide and adequate coverage of the trigger guard. I use it for front pocket carry in Dockers/dress pants.
I'll use a back pocket leather wallet-style holster for my Wranglers and I just got one last week for my P380 from Bear Creek Holsters. Got it in about ten days and had great communication with the company. Here's a link:

If I pocket carry, it's usually in a jacket pocket. My jeans certainly don't have room in the pockets, although I might be able to fit an LCP sized weapon in a wallet holster in the back pocket. With winter on us, I often throw my Charter Arms .44 into my jacket pocket for a quick trip down to the market. My CW40 is just a bit too long to fit in the jacket pocket securely.

Front or back pocket carry in my jeans, slacks, and even my tuxedo pants at a Mardi Gras Ball this past Saturday night with my PM40-no one was the wiser-exept Mrs. Dirty while I was holding her real close.
If the Wranglers are that tight, you might consider a ten gallon black cowboy hat as a cover head piece. A tip of your hat to a bad guy really might make your day.
Seriously, if they're really that tight, Pocket Carry will be out of the question. IWB will be out of the question as well. Dressing around your carry piece of choice is most always needed. But if you're really that attached to those tight jeans you might consider getting one of those dinner plate sized belt buckles that hold a .22 derringer.

Only with a NAA .22 mag when dress dictates no other choice.

I carry the Taurus 605 in the pocket 90-95% of the time when I carry it. It works well enough. I got tired of the nut huggers after many a mile on a hardtail. I leave a little room for me now days. Zenthane, I hear rumblings that you guys may soon be able to do just that, keep your head up, and make some noise, it'll happen.

Yeah, I'm another one of those "too tight jeans" guys. I've tried to do IWB, but just not enough room.
I hate baggy fitting jeans, so I tried no holster at all. It works pretty well for me, just sliding my cw9 inside the jeans with butt of gun facing forward, I can push it down till it's almost hidden entirely.
Surprisingly enough, it's pretty comfortable, even while sitting or driving, because I always wear a tee shirt underneath another shirt.
Only one problem, gotta remember to remove before visiting the mens room, might fall out on the floor while standing, taking care of business at hand. http://kahrtalk.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Never carry in my pants pockets. Takes to long to get it out of the pocket when every second counts. Impossible to get out if sitting on a Motorcycle. I do carry it in a jacket or vest pocket at times. Depends on what gun I'm carrying and what jacket/vest I'm wearing.
Most of the time it's IWB on my hip.

I almost always carry something in my pocket, whether it be as my main carry or as a back-up.

Front pocket carry has never been an option with me. Even with a tiny KelTek P32 and fairly loose Khakis it will print when I sit down. I can back pocket carry in certain deep pocket pants since the printing just looks like a wallet. Have to find another place for my wallet though.
I quess thats why I never went with the PM or KM series. My P9 conceales just as well with a decent kant riding fairly high behind my right hip. A P9 is a little more comforting than a Keltek P32 also.

On this poll I checked "always" carry my PM40 "holstered" in my pocket, but the truth is that it is "usually" or 95% of the time. If I am on the street, out to dinner, out shopping, etc....it is in a pocket. However, If I am in the woods or in the home, it is either in the pocket OR on holstered my hip. Most of the time it is in the pocket. I don't wear super tight jeans, so pocket carry is very comfortable. Most of my pants are loose fitting. If my pants are so tight that it is uncomfortable to pocket carry, then they are too tight for the rest of my package too. Those pants won't get worn. Sometimes I'll carry in a leather jacket, but not very often, because I usually take off the jacket once I arrive at a destination. If I go for a walk in the woods or riding on my ATV at my club property, I wear my hip holster (G&G leather).
As far as draw is concerned, those that feel it is slower to draw from the pocket are generally correct. No dispute here. But "for me", that is not a deterent to carry in my pocket. I practice dry fire draw from the pocket and from the hip. I practice dry fire at least 5 minutes a day 5-6 days a week. With that kind of practice, you get to know how to draw, use the sights, indexing, stage the trigger, exchange mags, etc.... Each day I concentrate on something a little different to keep my skill sets up so that it feels automatic to me and I don't need to use much thought when the adrenalin is pumping. Yea, you are also correct that sitting down and drawing from the pocket is not ideal either. So I stand up. Every form of carry has pros and cons, but at least I am carrying and I have a chance VS leaving my gun at home where it will not serve me if needed.
Finally, I pocket carry because it is the most comfortable and securely concealed form of carry "for me". Maybe not for everyone. Wearing it in a holster on my hip is also very comfortable, but there are alot of situations where I simply do not feel it is concealed enough based on my dress, what I am planning to do, etc. I's like to try IWB this year and am considering the Remora holster. This holster can be used in the pocket or IWB, which makes it versatile. Therefore, if I do not like IWB, at least I will be able to use this holster. I don't own one yet.
I like pocket carry and it is comfortable "for me". I use the leather Guru holster by www.pocketholsters.com (http://www.pocketholsters.com) for about $65. It has a full cover leather to keep the pistol from printing in my pocket. I would not recommend pocket carry without using a holster that covers the trigger. It simply is not safe to stick a pistol in a pocket without covering the trigger via a holster. It should always be holstered during any form of carry IMO.
Nothing against other forms of carry for folks who prefer them. I respect that you carry in a manner that you feel comfortable, secure and safe. Just carry. It's better than leaving it at home in the gun vault. But if you leave it home, a gun vault is the place for it. You don't want to return home unarmed and find your loaded gun stolen or worse yet, in some stranger's hands pointed at you.

tend to worry to much about this print stuff. Ask yourself, how much do you examine a person pockets when you see one "anywhere". We just don't do that sort of thing. It is just not a natural place to be looking and definitely if the personis moving you can't tell what is there in the first place.
Car keys print--IF YOUR LOOKING. CELL PHONES PRINT-IFYOUR LOOKING.
Way way to much to do about printing stuff. no doubt in my mind a gun in your front pocket in ANY holster is going to print!! bUT PRINT WHAT??? Certainly no B G is going to be looking there either. If ur legal to carry, at best why should you care even. Just my 2 cents..

I'm with Jocko on the printing thing...I don't care if anyone sees what they think may be a gun in my pocket or not and if they feel the need to ask I'll tell them to mind their own business unless it's a Police Officer doing the asking...I carry my S&W J frame in my right front pocket and now I carry my new PM40 there as well...I haven't found a holster that works for pocket use but have tried several...I prefer to carry without a holster and the only thing in the pocket is the pistol because I find the draw to be much smoother and faster than trying to pull it out of a holster that more times than not wants to come out with the gun still inside...The few seconds saved may be the difference between life or death and I prefer the former...If I feel a threat or when walking to my truck in a parking lot or while getting money out of an ATM my right hand will be in the pocket with finger OFF the trigger but ready to draw if necessary...Once back in the truck the gun comes out and rides on the seat...This may not be the way others think it should be done but I have carried a handgun this way for 30 years without an issue and it works well for me...To each their own....

Pocket carry in a pocket holster probably 50% of the time. Remaining 50% is divided between IWB/OWB and sometimes stuck in the watch pocket. I don't wear real tight jeans.
Interesting thread! I am glad to see there are a few others that carry a NAA 22 mini-revolver. I carry said revolver in my pocket occasionally. I do use a pocket hoster. I only carry the mini-revolver when I cannot carry my PM9 or Ruger SP101.
One thing to keep in mind... if you carry a gun in your pants pocket, make sure you use a pocket holster. You will be surprised how much lint your pocket gun will attract (especially with jeans). It can accumulate enough to cause a malfuntion. That could be embarrassing! :o

Do you guys that carry those NAA's carry them hammer down or on the half c0ck notch? All chambers full.
I recently got a little bitty one, haven't shot it yet but it seems to be like new and functions the way it's suppose to. I know that if it's dropped and hits that hammer it's gonna go bang. Don't see no transfer bar. Just curious if the half c0ck notch is sound enough or if it's just gonna give the hammer more of a running start if I drop it.
Kind of a cute little bugger, my wife (not really a shooter) liked it and wants it. Not sure it's a good idea since I kind of want it myself and I'm not gonna decide till I actually shoot it and see what it acts like.

Pocket carry(PM40) most of the time BECAUSE IT WORKS FOR ME and therefore I DO carry. I wish the people garyb referenced made the moc zipper one for the PM40 theirs seem to be high quality. I mentioned in another post the problem I had with pocket carry, in a holster. I tried carrying my money clip in the same pocket----PROBLEMS----
Bending a certain way caused the money clip to press-in the mag. release!!!!
I don't carry anything in pocket with PM anymore.

Bawana-- I have one of the originals, tiny, I carried it for years in the rockies hunting, mainly for signaling, a box of 22 shorts weigh about the same a a couple of my
Wthby's and loud enough. That said I have tried to fire it at a target, over three foot I had trouble !!!!! good luck.

I carried an NNA 22 mag for about eight years on the notch between the cylinders, every once in a while I would find that it had migrated over to a live round,So the only way to stop that was to park it on an empty chamber, sort of like unholstering your 1911 to find the saftey off:eek:

My NAA Mini-Revolver is a 22LR. I have had no issues with it whatsoever. It is easy to fire and have had no safety issues carrying the little gun. There is a notch between the cylinder chambers that you drop the hammer in. I keep all chambers full. That is how I carry. I have never had an issue with the hammer slipping out of the notch. I also always carry in some type of holster, not loose in my pants pocket. I have carried loose in a jacket pocket but again, no safety issues. I also have no issues hitting the target although, it clearly is a "point and shoot" revolver
They are relatively inexpensive, you may want to pick one up and let the wife try it. If she likes it, pick up a second one for yourself. I think they are pretty decent for what they are. :D

I do sometimes, in a pocket holster as WMD suggests. Not only does it protect the gun, but it breaks the profile a little. Makes it look more like a wallet or phone. I agree with Jocko though, we worry way too much about printing. As long as the shape is not exactly that of a gun, the vast majority of individuals pay no attention to the lay of folds in your clothes. LEOs may be an exception if they are very alert and in high-crime areas.

Most often carry a P380 in leather pocket holster. Often carry either my PM9 or model 36 j-frame in jacket pocket.

I'll have to look for that notch between the chambers. Learned something today. I didnt get anything with the gun, no manual or box or anything although it's like brand new. If thats the case I'd have no worries about carrying the thing. Your also right they aren't a whole lot of money. Might get the missus one after we shoot it a few times. Have to look for some sort of holster for it, shouldn't take too much cow real estate to make an NAA holster. (the things cows do for us gun guys & girls, almost goofed and left TD2K out.).

I looked last night at my little NAA and I don't see any between the chambers notch. I don't see anyway to keep it from rolling over to a chamber. It has a half c0ck notch that seems solid though. Maybe a newer or older or bigger model has that in between notch? Mine is the smallest size that I've ever seen. Hoping to shoot it this weekend and see what it's like.

Bawana I'm like yours no notches between cylander chambers. Mine is old, serial B and 5 digits. Maybe newer ones have notches?
