Hey Guys ...
I'm in the market for a 380 myself. I just don't find myself pocket carrying the PM9 as much as I would like. I have yet to get a P380 due to the influx of issues I have seen with them so far. Therefore, I was gonna drop a pretty penny on a Seecamp 380 ($900+) when I stumbled upon this: All Steel, USA Made, Masterpiece Arms 380. They are pretty much brand new to the market and relatively hard to find .... The crazy thing?
MSRP & Street Price:
(Stainless) MPA380S -- MSRP: $345, SP: $290
(Black) MPA380B -- MSRP: $325, SP: $250

A version is in stock and for sale at BudsGuns:

And a review by someone who actually has one:
Masterpiece Arms Protector 380 pistol review (Seecamp 380 clone) (http://forum.pafoa.org/pistols-41/122495-masterpiece-arms-protector-380-pistol-review-seecamp-380-clone.html)
The Cons:
* Mag release - fingernail has to be used.
* Dry firing without mag will disconnect. Will have to take off grips to reinstall.
* Can't really find any other con's.
From the few reviews I have seen, it will fire pretty much anything and I have yet to see a single FTF or FTE. With the price point where its at, and the materials it uses .... I just don't see how this can't be a great thing! :D
Thoughts?

I had to wait a long time to get my P380 with N/S (11 months), and it had to go back the next day, unfired, because the front sight was dead and it went back again because of random slide lock backs, but it's the gun I carry the most, especially around the house. It has all of the big gun features... real sights, familiar controls that work like any of the Kahrs... features I want. I still haven't seen anything better... cheaper, yes, but I like quality and will stick with what works.
And, like Jocko says, it's a blow-back operated gun, not a locked breech like the Kahrs and 1911's, etc.
I certainly wouldn't advise being a "beta tester", but if it doesn't work out, you haven't "invested" much. It could be a doozy in a critical situation... that disconnecting thing. Stuff happens and if you aren't allowing for the worst possible thing to happen, you could be another victim of ol' Murphy.
JMHO.

....sigh....
If my wife would fall in love with the pink P380, I would pick up 2 ... 1 pink, 1 black ... Unfortunately, she doesn't like the DOA trigger Kahr has ... Her new favorite firearm is an XD9SC .... which is too big for purse carry.
.......sigh.......
I may just pick one of these up, give it a shot. If it doesn't work out, teach my wife how to shoot it real well, as its better to carry it than nothing at all.

I say get her a bigger purse and let her carry the XD9?
Other than warding off rabid ground squirrels during a charge I see little use for a 380 myself.
I can fit a PM9 in my smallest purse. (can't believe I let that cat out of the sack).
As for you your gonna feel less than complete with that pretty new MK9 under glass with accent lights and carrying that rather unsightly highly underated (did I say puny) 380.
Give the wife your XD, man up and get yourself a PM45 and call it a day.
Actually get your wife and XD45 compact, larger purse and stick with the rest of the plan...

nothring wrong with them. normaly more recoil as the barrel is fixed, It doesnt move. Usually lower pirced to make also. I just would not want to be a beta tester for a company. For a tad under $300 you can by now the proven Ruger lcp. It is a good gun, it is now well tested and working like it should It is completely safe and IT IS A RUGER. u KNOW THEIR GONNA BE HERE a year from now to. That seecamp might be pricey but it is also one heh of a nice gun to. ..
NO SIGHTS, or even a nub for a sight. no slide lock. It is machined upper and lower. I just don't see it taking anybody business away, like Ruger or kel tec which both MSRP I think even lowe rin price, certainly the same price point for sure. I never liked a blow back gun, certainly not gonna be as pleasant as the P380 kahr by a long shot. Although I am a kahr fan, I have owned 3 kel tec and one Ruger lcp. Still have the Ruger, it is a nice gun, both guns you just get what you pay for. Ihad to send my ruger back once, my 3 kel tecs back 17 times (no not a misprint) and I also own the P380 kahr, It had to go back once also, so as u can see none are exempt from issues. Kahr made me right and there isjust not doubt the kahr is way way above the ruger and kel tec, different price point to but I can hit wityht he P380 as I coul dnot hit anything with the other two. The P380 was so so pleasant to shoot compared tothe other two guns. Again u get what you pay for. The kahr P380 for themoney offers just so so much more. GOOD SIGHTS AND OPTION FOR NIGHT SIGHTS, EXTRA MAGAZINE, SLIDE LOCK, STAINLESS, ULTRA LIGHT, NO TRIGGER AROUND IN ITS CLASS. POYGONAL RIFLED BARREL, STRIKER FIRED, CERTAINLY IMO MORE ATTRACTIVE OF ALL MENTIONED. If you have any issues Kahr will stand behind it.

I think the company said it was all steel... machined by CNC. But I would want to give my wife the best we could reasonably afford... not a cast off "better than a rock!" :D
There are several proven designs out there like the LCP, NAA, and the Kel-Tecs and others.

Upon taking a closer look and looking at your links a bit better I might have to adjust my negative attitude. I didn't take in to account how tiny the thing really is. Could be considered on par with the little NAA. I think what might have converted me was the term "last ditch". I'd still use it as a running mate for you or our missus but it might not be a bad thing to have in the rotation.
A little tactical pink on that bad boy and I'd probably just melt.

Hi xRustyx, Bawanna beatum chest, say grow hair on forehead and getum a PM45 and go blastum bad guys...Real good idea but if you are itchin for a reliable .380 for a good price I don't see how you can beat a Ruger LCP...My local gun shop had brand new ones for $250.00 out the door..Now granted a little P380 is a super nice little pistol but with way too high of a price and for some has been problematic...Sure Kahr will fix them and does have excelent customer service but Ruger has great CS too should you ever have a problem with it... The Kahr P380 does have much better sights and the LCP has next to nothing for sights but these are up close, stick it in the bad guys face and pull the trigger guns...I did some back yard redneck ballistic testing using Hornady Critical Defence, Federal Hydra Shoks and Winchester PDX JHP and all performed extremely well and I sure wouldn't want to get in front of any of them and am 100% positive that any one of those through an eyeball would make a BG reconsider their plans....Good luck on your decision...

I like my lcp, it just ain't a P380 in any sense of the word. Mine had to go back to Ruger besides the recall, they did both at one time butmy issues were not recall issues. Bad barrel was one. Nice gun now. so Ruger is not exempt from issues any more than kahrs are. . at least kahr copied their "own" gun. You get along more with the kahr to, arguable for sure about sights not needed or wanted. One thing with the ruger,U HAVE NO OTHER OPTION. I personally think my xs big dot on my P380 was the best thing I could have put on this little gun. Nice to see something on the end of the barrel, THAT ONE CAN ACTUALLY SEE.. For $250 though for damn sure the Ruger lcp today is one heh of a great buy and if one didn't wantto pay the money for the kahr, I would defiinitely recommend the lcp..
One has to recall also that Ruger recalled over 50K of the lcp's for safety issues, so lets not put all praise and glory into Ruger products. they did very little testing on this lcp and basically copied the kelt tech 380 and paid the price for it to, as the kt's were problematic and Ruger just copied their problematic design instead of doing it right..

I think I've figured out my affinity for fat bullets.
I think if I can cure myself of my affinity for angels I'll be able to stop thumping my chest too.
