Received my PM9 Yesterday and took it to the range today.
its a Two Tone Version with Night Sights.
First Impression was WoW this thing is small.
Cleaned it this morning.
Went shooting this afternoon
Cleaned it tonight.
I'm very impressed with this weapon. ZERO malfunctions with it.
I used S&B (100rds), WWB (50rds), Speer GD +p (25rds), Speer GD LE (30rds), LE Ranger Bonded (30rds), Federal Tactical LE (25rds), and LE Ranger T (30rds).
Incase anyone was wondering YES I test all my weapons with ALL the carry loads I *may* use. as I cycle my carry ammo out every 6 months. (Hey when its given to you its cheap to do)
It ate it all with NO problems. and Very Little kick with any of the ammo. However the Speer GD LE did have a lot of muzzle flash.
I did notice the magazine pinched my ringer finger every now and then when I was shooting, untill I learned how to hold it.
Does anyone know where to pick up one of the Kahr plastic base plates maybe that will help?
I can't say how much I'm impressed with this little weapon.

Congratulations! That's probably the most popular Kahr. I bought an SS K9 back in early '98 and had the N/S replaced by Trijicon for $18 a lamp a few months ago... $54 which included return shipping. You won't have to worry about that for about 12 years.
I joined the forum about 5 months after ordering a P380... arrived after 11 months, but while waiting I went looking for a PM45 at a local gun show... just looking... didn't see one, but found a LNIB PM9 DLC with night sights! I was so scared I wasn't going to walk away with it... that someone was going to outbid me while I was dickering. I finally got it for $50 less and walked away feeling like I had found the holy grail! It was surreal!
It's a terrific gun... great size and will shoot +P with accuracy... smooth trigger pull once you get used to it.
A month later I got its BIG brother the PM45 and about a month after that, I finally got my P380. The PM9 is the 'tweener now and I usually carry the P380 most of the time around the house and when in shorts. The PM45 is a little bigger and requires more preparation, but I occasionally carry the PM9 as a compromise and for more oomph. :)
I put bike tubes on all of my polymer Kahrs and that's enough for me.
A lot of others use the Pierce magazine bases for more grip, though.
Welcome to the forum.

Very nice report and glad to hear everything functioned perfectly during the break in period.
I received my SS PM9 last weekend and still haven't had an opportunity to get out to the range for her maiden run just yet but I'm very much looking forward to it. Reading this has only elicited more anticipation to do so; hopefully tomorrow if the stars align. My initial reaction to the size of the gun was similar to yours, I couldn't believe how small thing felt in hand.
Thanks again for the report and congrats on the PM9!

NEW PM9 ( How many times has this been posted LOL)
Well, I studiously checked all the records and this is the very first time that moreland281 posted a new PM9. So your the first.
Nice to hear good stuff and it's doing everything you expect, not terribly surprising but good to hear it.
Glad your here.

lately it seems that is all we read is how great these kahrs are doing. Some wll stillgive some fits but basically it looks to me like if a person does alittle pre prep to his gun and READS THE OWNERS MANUAL. they are going tohave a great first outting.
Nice report from Moreland, but for me I would not have expected any other type of report. PM9's are just that great of a gun... Now just shoot it like you stole it..

I forgot to give credit to Jocko.
I followed his instructions on preshooting maintance to the T. So I"M sure that helped.
It also helped me get familiar with the pull on the slide and the break down procedure on that little piece.
Thank You Jocko for taking the time to do the write up you did.

nice to see a post for a new pistol with ZERO issues. seems most only post when things dont go perfectly. that was an ambitious 1st range trip! sounds like a blister filled trip from filling those mags! i notice a lot of flash with the speers in my glock 40 but havent tried them in my pm9. i have had the best luck with the federal fmjs, win white box fmj's, and carry the win pdx's or ranger t's.

I picked up my new PM9 a couple of days ago.
I cleaned it, added a Hogue Junior to the grip & went to the local range.
Ran 120 rounds of Federal 115gr FMJ's through it.
No issues, both mags worked great. Very happy!

for the nice compliment but as u know that won't buy me a cup of coffee. If u really mean it,, a nice $20 bill in an envelope will go a long ways. I'm saving up to buy my own milk shake machine, as it is just not safe to get on the highways anymore. u can get my address from Bawanna, but please do not send him the $20. I had about 15 other posters who have sent me money via through Bawanna and he claims it never arrived:32::32:
more than likely your PM9 was good to go out of the box but you just got to know it alot better by doing some of the pre-prep to. One of the nice things about the pre-prep is that you get to know your gun before that first BANG thing ever happens..

I just picked up a new pm9 (9094N) on Friday. I did find the prep info, but I didn't follow through with it. Not because I didn't think it was great information, just because I wanted to see how it would act more or less out of the box. I did work the slide twenty or thirty times and I took it apart to have a look. I also blew it out with a little compressed air and wiped a little oil on the slide rails.
I arrived at the range about a half hour before it closed and I was able to shoot 100 rounds without a failure of any kind, so I was pleased with that. I was shooting some Remington 115gr FMJs. I was surprised at how accurate it was. It is easy to shoot, even with the long pull. I was expecting to be bothered by it since it is mentioned a lot, but I didn't really even think about it much.
So almost everything was good. I do have one issue that makes me a little nervous. The magazine release is very stiff. At first I had to use both thumbs to get it to release. In addition, at first I could almost not get the magazines out. This evening I inserted and removed the magazine a hundred times or so, and now it is much better. At this point the release is just pretty stiff, and the magazines do drop about a quarter of an inch or so when released(when full). Should I just keep working with it, or is there something better I can or should do? Thanks.

Well, for my first post, I would like to start by saying, this forum is not only well ran, but also has some of the most helpful members I have ever seen. I have a PM9 that I purchased from Bud's in Jan. I followed Jocko's prep instructions and headed to the range. I put 100 rounds of WWB FMJ and another 100 rounds of Rem Golden Saber 124 JHP's through this thing....flawless performance, very accurate and actually fun to shoot. Looks like my G26 has lost it's spot as my EDC.:)

Well welcome firstmel, hope you stay and hang out a while. I got a quick question for you since I see your in Vegas.
You know that whole what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas thing? If you live there does that still apply or do you get to have your stuff stay someplace else?
Always wondered about that. Never been there myself, have a couple friends that live there and know lots that have been there of course. I'm almost afraid to visit as I worry I'll have to stay there which might not be so bad.
I hear it's the angel capital of the world.

lots of small ass guns out there most not as small as the PM9, certainly none as smooth IMO. Most all kahrs work perfect out of the box today but the pre-prep just gets a person accustomed to his gun before that first bang thing ever happens.
nice report firstmel. and welcome to this fourm, we are what we are a bunch of guys who love kahrs and certainly other guns to.

Thanks for the welcome :) I always enjoy reading your responses, very witty and ALWAYS on point! For those of us who live in Vegas, we changed the "what happens here stays here" to "make sure nobody who lives here sees you"....lol....otherwise, just head up to Reno....
Speaking of angels....it's kinda funny seeing the local "angels" shopping in Wal Mart or the grocery store....seems like they forget to change out of their work clothes quite often....nice:angel:
PM me if you ever decide to visit "angel city"....I'll buy you your beverage of choice...seriously.

I'm thinking this thing would have been perfect out of the box, but as you mentioned, the prep made me feel at home with this gun....:)
After doing some research, reading some of your posts was the deciding factor in my decision to buy this thing....Glad I did big time!
I already ordered a PM45, since I never carry my 1000lb ultra whiz bang Kimber whatever series....don't be offended Kimber owners....just didn't know I was buying a "trophy wife" when I purchased Kimmy....lol
So if my wife doesn't kill me (fingers crossed), I'll be around a while, and hope to one day contribute even a fraction of what you and Bawanna45cal have to us newbies :yo:

I heard he was special forces, him and Captain Kangaroo also. Thats why he always wore sweaters to cover up his arms with tatoos.
Heard this was urban legend but I'm not sure. Keeshan was a Sgt on the beach at Iwo Jima. Can't remember the name of the movie star that served with him. I see his face, can't recall the name. Led the Dirty Dozen?????

Most of the rumors were BS... just rumors, especially the ones about Lee Marvin, Captain Kangaroo, and Mister Rogers who never "served", I think:

I finally found a link to my first post on a new thread after that discussion back in September.
There's so much BS and spoofing stuff posted, you need to research everything before you start believing BS and passing it on... been there, done that... I remember that giant boar someone posted many times with various Photoshopped additions.

The only downside I can see to these PM9's is they'll never become collectors items ..... there're so damn many of them out there now, they're like 1911's! :)
