I was at the range yesterday and for the first time I actually had an issue with the CW9. I ran maybe 75-80 rnds of WWB and had 2 FTE. I've put about 400 rnds through in total as of now and hadn't yet cleaned the gun at all. Last night I sat down and cleaned her out completely. I pulled the whole slide assembly apart and all. Cleaned it up good and lubed it all as per the lube guide in the Tech section.
I won't be able to get to the range until saturday so I don't know if the FTE problem will persist or not but when i cleaned it the extractor was really gunked up so I'm thinking the problem won't continue.
Anyways also after cleaning i loaded up a few mags of Golden Sabers and tried to slingshot the slide. The round dives into the ramp and binds up the slide. Just to check i also tried it with a WWB and that bound it up for about 3 seconds and then chambered. I also retried both rounds with the slide stop and it chambered flawlessly. I haven't had the time or resources to polish the feed ramp at all so hopefully that will fix that issue.
I have about a month of ownership so far on my first gun and I still say the Kahr was a GREAT investment.

more than likely a dirty gun. if the slide stop lever worked in loading that first round then u had to be riding the slide somewhat to cause it to jam up. use the slide stop lever as kahr states in their manual or until you are very goodat hand racking.
Polishing the feed ramp some more and inside the chamber is certainly not a bad thing either. Make sure the recoil spring is on correctly also. More you shoot the gun the more profecient you will get to. Kahrs are tight and hand racking for some is just hard for some to perfect. IMO you have no feed issues if u can use the slide lock lever and load perfectly..

The new Kahrs I've seen have the feed ramp pretty polished up from the box, yours may not even need that. It can't hurt certainly. Polishing never hurt anything. Just remember sparks = grinding not polishing and you can do no harm.
Far as sling shotting give it some more time to loosen a bit. You should be able to sling shot at some point if you don't ride the slide, do it with gusto and let her fly. Kahr recommends the slide lock lever and for the life of me I still don't understand it but it does in fact work.
Lots happening in a small tight package. Could be the answer.

One thing is for certain Bawanna, we all hand rack differently. BUYT if we use the slide stop lever to load that first round then the gun is going with the same velocity EVERY TIME to load that first round. These kahrs need that exact velocity, not a tad bit slower in order to work right.
Unlike my G19, I feel I can rack it with my teeth, it is just that easy to rack PERFECTLY to, but again a different gun entirely. No doubt more rounds down range and the shooter and the gun both learn each others quirks and then hand racking will be a "breeze"
I tend to think when an owners manual states to do certain things there is a reason for that...

I have so far not been able to introduce a failure into my CW9. Hand racking, riding the slide forward, manually moving the slide forward—nothing has caused a failure to feed. I do as the manual suggests when I want the gun to function properly, but I think it's amazing that even when I deliberately ignore the recommendation, I can't get it to mess up.

well that is the way most kahrs will end up like to. just for some kahrs and kahr owners it takes maybe alittle longer. U got a good one that is for sure...

I never rack by hand and DUDE, Always clean your gun if 1 or 100 rounds go thru it!!! Dont ever carry a dirty gun. Im up to well over 500 rounds now and not a single problemo.:D

tconroy, thats some very good advise you just gave there. If you want them to work right keep them clean.
