Test weapon= Kahr PM9
Test cartridge= Speer Gold Dot 124+p

I clean a EDC every two weeks regardless... unless it has been shot.
So I thought I’d chamber a round 24 times and measure after each chambering.
This will represent 1 year of cleanings using the same round for the pipe.

The fresh Speer round started at 1.11”
After chambering the same round 24 times……measurement was 1.11”

For those interested I ran the same test with the same load with a S&W M&P9c and got the same result= no set back.

Disclaimer.

DO NOT assume this round, gun or combination will not cause set back which could be very dangerous.
In fact, I’m going to continue with my practice of 4 chamberings per round because I didn’t test a whole box.

That obviously works for you but it's not always a good idea. By doing that your putting a large burden on the extractor of some guns making it ride over the rim of the case rather than allow it to slide up under the extractor from the magazine the way it was designed.
I know this is true of 1911's. I was told the same on Smiths but with the large external extractor it seems they would fair much better than some.

I used to chamber feel always also, quit when I learned this information.

Of course stick with it if it works for you.

I'm happy to see Rubb's results with the Gold Dot as thats my chosen round. Those results obviously could vary alot with different brands or even a different box of Gold Dots. Both of the guns are obviously feeding very well with little or no hangups too.
An excellent test, thanks for sharing it.
