I have a single 50 round box of Federal hollow points in 9mm +p+ , is it safe to shoot through my K9?
No, the Kahr pistols are only good up to plus P. Do not shoot +P+. Check your owners manual. It will validate what I am saying.

The original Kahr K9 was rated for +P+, but came with a heavier recoil spring, (22 pounds). If you want to shoot that ammo, you may want to ungrade to the stiffer spring. Fifty rounds is so few as to not be a major concern, IMHO. A steady diet of them would of course accelerate wear and tear.

I would not do it. I know on the FAQ section of the Kahr website it says it is rated to use up to +P

I will err on the side of caution.... and shoot them through my Glock :D
Thank you guys for responding and I should read my manual!!!

If u feel comfortable shooting them through your glock, I would have no reason to not feel comfortable shooting them through my K9. It is built as sturday as any glock will ever be. I would upgrade to the 22# recoil springs just to make the shooting event more pleasant, but IMO the gun can take those rounds. +P+ is just not a popular round at all, very little ammo variations even offered, let alone the best defense round sseem to always be +p. Has to be a reason for that. I also think gun companies feel if you need to shoot a +P= 9mm round, then why not step up to the 40 cal rounds

This is just a box of ammo I got in a trade , its not something i ever buy or shoot often, I wanted to get rid of it but wanted to check first if i could run it through my K9.
Thank you everyone for responding

The Federal 115 grain +P+ ammo I've seen seems to be on the mild side of +P+.
It runs 75 to 100 fps slower than the Winchester Ranger or Speer Gold Dot 115 grain +P+ out of various pistols of mine. I only got 1255 fps with it out of a Beretta 90two and that's almost a 5" barrel.
Based on that, it doesn't seem much, if any, hotter than Corbon 115 grain +P.

Yea, I shot it through my 17 on sunday, they were hot, but nothing any more special than any other +p I have fired.
In any case, they are all gone now :)
