Mk9 front strap checkering

Anybody checkered their front strap? Is there enough metal on the front strap to support checkering? How many lpi? I've done a couple of 1911's and the grip was Improved dramatically. Thanks, Rick

Some one here did a K series, looked pretty good, and seemed to work well. I'd give more details, but just don't remember them right now.
