Good morning all, I have a CW9 and have 1200 trouble rounds through the pistol. Love the Kahr! My question is when is it advisable to replace the recoil spring? And are there other maintenance issues that need attention as the round count grows? I ask because I replace the recoil and firing pin springs in my BHP between 1500 and 2000 rounds as a matter of course!
Thanks for any input!

leave the striker area alone. Unless that firing pin breaks, there is no need to replace it. The strker springs, just don't wear out either. replace the cw9 recoil springs at ur will, they are cheap to buy from kahr, buy a half dozen at a time and postage then works out OK. U will never go wrong in replacing recoil springs IMO. IMO nothing else on that kahr itself that needs replacing, but if your gonna order some extra springs from kahr, then go ahead and order a couple extra mag springs to and keep a new polymer magazine follower in your surplus parts also...
Your kahr has a striker spring in it at about 7.5#, more than enough to accept alittle wear to it. I have shot the wolffs 5# striker spring in my PM9 for almost 30,000 rounds, never replaced it, never had a light striker. When things are working right, I tend not to fix what is not broken..

Thanks Jocko, I am with you on the don't mess with it if it is not broken! I will order several recoil springs and think about a spare magazine and magazine springs. Good advice. I am still hunting for a belt holster that will keep the pistol close and comfortable under a jacket! In front or just on the hip has become an interesting search for a lefty!
Love this Kahr, I may buy a backup soon. P9 or another CW9, I am hooked!

High Noon Holsters makes some really nice holsters for us leftys-I have a couple of their Bare Asset holsters and I really like 'em as they're nice and comfortable.

u only have one magazine indeed order a spare mag and IMO stick withthe flush fit ones, but ordering these smallthings with standard porstate and hendling, can add up, so make it worth while when ordering parts. Indeed get at least one new mag follower. Mag springs are not somethignyou replace every 2500 o0r 5000 rounds even but nice to have one or two around, just in case. Not all springs act thew ay they are designed either Wolffs puts out magazines springs like popcorn and as u know sometimes not all the popcorn POPS either.
