I've got an older PM9 that I got second hand. I've had it a while and it runs like a dream, but one thing has always bothered me about it. The mags seem to have a lot of movement in them. pushing on the bottom of the mag moves it up and down enough that it is of concern. Never caused any feed problems, but it could always get worse... Could it be that I need a new mag catch or is it just a loose tolerance that i should leave as is? BTW, it does it with all 4 of the mags i have for it so I'm pretty sure they aren't causing it.

nope not a concerrn, my PM9 with over 30,000 rounds will do that if I push it up like that. Not the mags, just the way it is. The rounds are not moving one bit when you push up on that magazine as they are at that time sitting under that slide interface bar. What your doing is pushing up the magazine only, the rounds are not doing anything. Your magazine spring is compensating for any movement like that. Look at damn near any kahr and you will see gap between the bottom of the magazine floor plate and the actual bottom of the grip. You basically answered your own question to, the gun is working perfect. IMO, if it ain't broke don't fix it..

well I only bring it up because neither the PM45 I had nor my P380 do that. The P380 is actually has an extremely tight lock on the mag. The big worry I had was when loading from a fresh mag, there's a lot of up and down (mag and rounds) with the slide locked open. wonder if it would ever cause a problem chambering?

My P380 has play in the magazine. goes bang every time.. My extended round magazine for my PM9 is really loosey goosey. Only thing that keeps that magazine in place is the magazine release button. Just gonna get some play . Just shoot it like u stole it, sounds to me like you bought a darn good used PM9..
I think the PM45 comes with a different floor plate than the PM9 and maybe that takes up some of the slack.
