Its incredible what a difference just a simple(but rather pricey) base plate makes on the pistol. Decreased the printing on the grip tenfold. Hopefully my Brooks Tactical Agrip will be in tomorrow so I can break this bad boy in on Saturday in style. :)

looks good, wonder if there is anything a person could do with the gap?

The gap really isnt that bad to be honest, I thought it would be more.

I did a quick cleaning before I go to the range tomorrow for the break in...

Holy crap there was a lot of plastic shavings and tooling shavings in the thing. I am surprised Kahr letts them leave the factory like that. Im glad I cleaned it beforehand.

why a propper prepping of your new kahr is important. Dont trust the factory to sen dyou a perfectly cleaned and lubed gun. Doit yourself, u will get to know the gun betterbefore that first shot is even fired..

Just got back from the range. I shot 200 rounds, with no failures at all. It was amazing how much the gun loosened up over the session. The first couple mags the slide release was very stiff, now its relativly easy to depress. I will say though that I did not have any trouble slignshotting the slide with the standard tactical "slap your shoulder with your palm" method, so i didnt need to use the slide stop.

I will say that I find it funny that out of the pistols iv owned(and full sized frames at that) I shoot the CW better. I love the trigger also, so smooth. Couldnt be happier with my purchase, thats for sure.

Yea. The previous CW9 i had was used, so i didnt get to go through the fun stuff with it. lol

I think more than anything i like the bar dot sights the most. Thats probably why i shoot it better.

Kahr offers a baseplate kit through their store for cw40s and cw9s

JCP281, let us know when you get the grips on. I would like to see a pic of them. Good thing I do side jobs to support my guns and ammo habit! I bought a Kershaw knife, 2 Bianchi speed strips for my 357 and some half b-27 targets saturday so the flat plate is next on the list!!:D:D Oh yeah, need a better holster for the ruger too, then Im done............yeah right.:rolleyes:

Jocko, I have always used hoppes gun oil on my parts and clean, lube after every range session but I was curious as to what and if grease would be best and where to use it?? Just a question for the Guru of Kahrs.

I cancelled the order on it. They were backordered. Looks wise you cant really tell its there. Its like a skin for your ipod, but for the pistol. I think im just going to do the inner-tube mod and be done with it.

I did the inner-tube grip when I first got my CW, it works ...But for a better grip and a better look, I got some Traction Grips and they are really a great upgrade for a little cost. Good stuff!

MY G26 and CW9 both wearing rubber Traction grips

On mine that has a gap, I painted the gap with black Automotive paint, comes in a a bottle with a brush. Now the gap doen't show.:D

Thats not why I want the a gips though. Its the back that digs into my hand. The traction on the gun isnt the problem its just uncomfortable for me to shoot after a few hundred rounds. lol

Yes, then the inner-tube would be better for that, I used the tube till I got through breaking in and proving the CW because of the high amount of rds at a time I was putting through it too.

I remember when I got my PM45, I held it and fondled it so much that my hand was just hamburger. I did the innertube trick that made it perfect but still had to postpone the first range visit for a few days, my had hurt so bad.

But I didn't cry! I kinda wanted to but I didn't do it.

I upgraded to a Hogue now and while it's not a huge improvement over the innertube it looks better and while some don't like them, the finger grooves seem to be in the right place for my hands, installed upside down as recommended by another member here.
