i haven't, but i've only fired maybe 400 rounds since putting it in.

jocko has put over 20k through his pm9 and has the 5lb spring, but i dont know how many of those rounds were before he put it in. he says he's has no light strikes.

Why swap the striker spring out? Whats the benefit?

lightens the trigger pull, but not by much.

Is the trigger pull heavy? I dont think so, its just long(which is the safety feature).

no, and i'm used to long triggers, my main carry is a LEM h&k p2000.

its not a major difference, it doesn't turn it into a hair trigger or anything. same travel and smoothness, i'd guess it took the 6.5 lb pull down to about 5.5, maybe as much as 6 lbs.

still perfectly safe for daily carry, and shoots just a tad better with slow aimed shots. although any self defense shot is likely to be quick and panicked at close range, you never know. with such a small gun as the pm9, its tough to be accurate at distance. it seemed to allow me to reach out just a bit further before my groups start to break up.

granted, im still testing it and mostly carry the hk until i've put at least another 500 through the kahr to verify reliability. i do shoot a lot, but its mostly idpa where i dont use the kahr.

that said, i wouldn't recommend tossing the spring in and calling it good if it is a weapon you trust your life to. make sure you haven't changed its function by shooting piss out of it before relying on it :)

Just want to know if anyone has had light strikes before I install the lighter spring. Thanks for the info. Been doin trigger jobs on all my own shooters for about 20 years. With good instruction and tools you can get the results you want. Lighter springs are just one part of the process. :yo:

kaHR factory springs are around 7 to7.5# the 5 # striker spring by wolffs is rated AT 5#.

iT IS NOT TO LIGHT AT ALL. It would produce no light strikes. Glocks come with 5# triggers in them from the factory. It doesnt change trigger travel, just trigger pull. Personaly I love my 5# striker springs. It has well over 30,000 rounds thorugh it, Ihave never replaced it, nor has it ever give me light strikes. Keeping the striker channel clean is the key tonot having light strikers. Definitely testout anything new you put on any gun for reliability. common sense would dictate that, I would think.

also have the 5 striker sprngin my K9 also, with no light strikes..

FYI-- I checked the trigger pull, in pounds, using a digital scale for that purpose at the range. Wilson CQB=5.5#, PM40= 5.7#, P45=4.5#, Gold cup= 3.5#. Doesn't Wolffe warn against using lighter than stock spring for self defense!

they put that disclaimer on every light striker spring that they sell. The kahr striker spirngs works differently than the gold cup and wilson you measured, as trhe trigger travel stays the same. I am not doubting your digital scale but kahrs springs from the factory are ober 7#. At least that is what they claim. I find a 4.5# on the P45 to be outta whack and if that is the weight you measured, then no sense in getting a 5# wolffs striker spreing. Any chance those springs could have been changted to wolffs 5# spring..

I have had them in 5 different K9/MK9 models all with minimum of 800 flawless rounds in each. The difference is slight but noticeable.

My PM9 has had the 5# strike rinit since the week that I got it and now over 30,000 rounds later, the same spring is still there. It is not hairy by any means, as the trigger travel of 3/8" never changes.

My K9 has had it for over 5000 rounds. I like um!!!!

No Jacko I got them all, except the pm40 new. I know what they advertise but this is empirical .
