:Posted this in General Discussion also, wasn't sure the best place to post it::

So, I have a brand new Kahr CW9 with approx. 200 rds through it so far and haven't had a single FTE or FTF or any other common issues. I was doing a little training today and had a small problem.
When I go to enter a loaded magazine with the slide locked back the slide will automatically release, chambering a round if the mag is inserted too forcefully. Needless to say, this scared me a little bit and I figured you guys would be the first to check with.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Does this warrant a trip back to the factory for some work?
I would love any input. Thanks guys.

u answered your own question. IF THE MAG IS INSERTED TOO FORCEFULLY.

Here is whatis happening when u do this: FORCDEFULLY. with a loaded magazine that top round in the magazine is being forced against the under side of the slide, that long bar called the interface bar. and for sure with a loaded magazine there is virtually no give in the magazine spring to allow that top round to not want to push your slide upward. It has to be pushing up on the bottom of the slide, that is the way semi's work, now if u slam FORCEFULLY, what your doing is moving that slide upward with more force than that slide lock lever can hold it in place and it will release the slide. IMO there is nothing wrong with your gun, u just need to back off from the FORCEFULLY thing, unless u like to load the gun that way. U are eliminating one step when you do that and some shooters like that because it is faster. I always felt when you slam a magazine home like that, that it is moving past that inside magazine release button nub that goes into the magazine cut out very fast and I would think over time could wear that mag release nub on the inside some. You don't have to slam a magazine home, but I hope you can understand why it is doing what your saying to.

When you slam it home like that , what u are doing is taking just enough of pressure off the slide release button, to allow it to now drop down out of the way and release the slide. It should load that first round perfect though..

I guess I'm a big wuss with my pistols because I actually depress the mag release button when I insert a magazine so as to not cause wear on the mag release itself as well as wear on the magazine.

have to agree with you, just a creature of habit. I don't slam my car doors either. IMO takes me no longer to touch that mag button when I insert, it is so natural to me now that I don't even notice I am doing it. Being my PM9 is loaded 24/7 and I carry no spare with me, I see no need to slam anything, other than my neighbor who is a true dork face idiot.:(
