Took the new PM9 apart and she was suprisingly clean. Followed the sticky on pre-shooting prep. Cleaned her all up. Racked the slide several hundred times. Lubed up the oblong hole in the barrel lug with Shooter's Choice grease (synthetic red stuff in a syringe). Lubed the rest of the rails and indicated lube points with FP10 (also from Shooter's Choice).
Took her to the range and set up a target at 7 m (21'). Blasted away for 200 rounds. Not a single hiccup. Probably put too much FP10 on the slide return spring assembly and rails (some oozed out around the bottom of the slide). Put 100 rounds in the main aim point of the target and another 100 rounds in the head.
Definately a good shooter. I'm very happy with the gun and the guidance obtained here on KahrTalk.
Thank you jocko and crew.

Wow, that's some nice shooting! I assume you purposely grouped above that CM yellow dot. Looks like you were maybe going for heart shots?
Hope the break in of my new PM9 goes as well as yours did.
Take care...

Way to go, Carl - excellent shooting and I'm glad to hear the PM9's treating you so well. I definitely would not want to be on the other side of the barrel. Definitely another +1 to how well a Kahr runs after taking the time to do everything we can to help the break-in process. And a pic of the event is always nice! Have fun shooting!

I'd say theres some sort of defect, the barrel must be straight or something. There should be lots of holes way more scattered around, out there in the white, off the target, further apart.
It's obviously the guns fault, no shooter error here either.
Maybe the party you stole it from messed it up before you got it.
I've never seen one quite this bad before all shooting in a small spot like that.
If you want to send it to me for examination and testing I'd be happy to take a look at it for ya.

Hey Uncle B, I was wondering where you were and when you were going to chime in today. Gun show? Range sessions? Teaching all of the youngin's at the range? Glad to see you're still around.

Yup, gun show! And I came home empty handed! Whats with that. Course I only had about 15 bucks and change on me so I guess I set my hopes too high.
Was hunting for a 1911 for the boy, not too many there today, did get him a dot sight for his GSG MP5 22 look alike thing. Think its gonna work pretty well.
Added note. I did see and hold a T9 at the show. Never seen one in person before. It was in nice shape asking 730 bucks. My 15 and change didn't even make a down payment. Maybe next time.
I got a guys ole Win 30-30 all tore apart cleaning up years of neglect too. Had to check in with my buds though.
Glad your wondering about me, keeps the wheels turning.

Actually, I had a 6 o'clock hold on the yellow dot. Ran 100 rounds that way. When I moved up to the head, I deliberately held on a line at the bottom of the ear lobes. I know in a high-stress situation, I'm not going to be looking for the ear lobes...so center of mass for me.
But to answer your implied question...yes it shoots about 3" high at 7m (21').

In 35 years of shooting pistols, I've worn a few out trying to keep the groups small. What you see in the pic is "target" shooting, not double-taps from a concealed draw. Goal today was just to run 200 rounds for break-in, and see just how accurate I could control a 3" barrel in a DAO pistol. That Kahr trigger is definately smooth...long...but smooth.
BTW, I "target" shoot my 4" Combat Commander 1911 with about the same precision.

Say Carl, are those powder burns I see on that target of yours? For me to shoot that well I'd have to tape a piece of paper over it to and shoot from 2 feet. The paper catches the powder burn but the holes go all the way through.
Looks to me like shooter and gun are a very good match. All I can say is good for you!

OldLincoln,
Cut my teeth on a 6" Mod 27 Smith revolve shooting those little ground squirrels as a boy in Montana. Had to learn a good hold and a smooth trigger. Have always been good with a pistol...other firearms run from good to ugly...but a pistol I've just had a knack shooting well. Didn't hurt that I carried a 1911 and then an M9 in my 20+ years in the Army.
