Hello I'm from the great state of Mass. I just bought a pm9. I have yet to break her in that will be next Sat. I have chosen Winchester white box to break her in. I cleaned and lubes her and have racked the slide quite a bit hoping this aides in break in. I already love this little gun. I have a S&W M&P9c and I must say the quality of this Kahr is of the same if not better. I also think the trigger on the Kahr is much smoother than the S&W. Don't get me wrong the M&P9c has a crisp trigger with a clean break and short reset, but I like the Kahr much better. If there are any comments or suggestions please let me know. I have a question for all of you. I have the two tone PM9 with night sights and it's the mass version, guess how much I paid??

Welcome to the homeland, Izzy. Fantastic two guns you got there. That M&P9C is a great gun - but I'm with you, the Kahr PM9 is fantastic. I wish you much luck with it. As for my guess, I'll guess that you didn't pay a cent for it. You traded a ham sandwich for it.:80:

Welcome. I live in MA with a PM9 too. Great little gun and about the smallest 9 you'll find on the market here. I was shooting a friend's G26 on the range today and was utterly amazed at how much bulkier it was.

New ones without night sights are around $750. Add a $100 if you got night sights. If you did better than that, I applaud you. :D

Masshole here as well. Four Seasons has them starting at $725 stock or $825 with nights brand new.... I'm going to guess somewhere in between them. :D

How long do we have to wait to find out? We're left hanging.

If he got it for the ham sandwich, somebodies pig is in serious trouble.

I actually paid 830.00 plus tax. The nice gentlemen threw in a box of blazer 124gr aluminum cased fmj. Yes in Mass we can buy handguns. We can buy the ones the attorney general says we can have. And bullets too. Thank you to all who jumped in on this one. These things are expensive. But if it's dependable as you all say it will be worth it. Thank you again

You kept us guessing and waiting....for $830 plus tax!? I think I would have rather paid by ham sandwiches. :blushing: Good luck with the gun, hope it's a winner for you. In case you haven't done so yet, hit up the Kahr Tech subforum for an awesome lube chart and how to prep it right to help git'r'dun.

Wow! The sad part is the attorney general who no doubt would prefer you not have any guns probably gets a big kick back on the ones he does allow.

Its sad to me that you poor folks have to live in states where your legislature tells you what your allowed to have far as guns, knives, tasers, pepper spray, hand grenades, you know the basic tools a man needs to stay in alive in today's society.

And soon grand POObah (emphasis were it needs to be) you may even be able to legally own a suppressor. I hear tale that your reps. are taking that cause up, and it may even pass.

Holy crap! They let lowly civilians own handguns in the People's Republic of Massachusetts?

Fellow Mass-hole here too..... Four Seasons has the cheapest deal on the PM-9. I got my brand new night sight for $810. There are a couple other places within $20-$40 that price, so depending on your location the trip to Woburn might eat into that savings.

Izzy360

yes exactly I live right down the street from Smith and Wesson so woburn would have ate up that 20 plus I found that one 15 min from the house

Now that would be wicked cool to be able to say I live right down the street from Smith and Wesson. Guess that has to be a plus for living in MA.

I'll see if I can think of another and get back to ya.

I can think of another plus - Ted Kennedy doesn't live there anymore. :D

Has anyone else thought it strange that so many gunmakers are in the PROM? (People's Republic of Massachusetts?) Any reason that so many gunmakers settled there instead of Texas or Florida or elsewhere.

Maybe they wanted to be Izzy and Rut's neighbors?

Maybe thats where all the factories were originally when the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria landed and they are too lazy to move em to civilization.
I watched Shooter again last night for the 37th time (Kate Mara is hot). I loved the line "Welcome to Tennessee patron state of shooting stuff."

If Kahr or any of the other gun makers open a plant in Wyoming with a nice heated building and an employee indoor shooting range, I'll give up my aspirations of becoming a Wal Mart Greeter and go to work for em. Cheap.
Has to be a real gun maker, Smith, Colt, Ruger, Savage, Mossberg, no Keltec types.

I ride for the brand too.

And Illinois too. Lots of gun manufacturers there - Rock River Arms, Armalite, Springfield Armory, DS Arms, Eagle Arms, LMT, to name a few. At least Les Baer had the good sense to move to Iowa a few years ago.

The irony of it is if these gun makers suddenly up and moved these states would be in a panic to explain the unemployment and tax shortfall. As is typical of "lefties", they want it both ways.

Especially in MA where they limit what you can and can't buy here. Imagine S&W and Kahr up and moving shop?

They are both more than welcome in my neighborhood. I'll go vacuum the welcome mat right this very minute.
I got 2 pickups, I'll help them move. My soon to be son in law is a truck driver, he'll help and has a big truck.

First of all welcome to the Forum. Can't say I'm very fond of the gun laws in your state. Guessing on price, If it was brand new, with night sights, and probably being the Mass. model with the safety, I'd guess around $750.

Izzy360

It was 830$ and thank you. I hat my states laws. I wish all states adopted Alaska gun laws in reference to carrying and purchasing and Texas castle laws. The United Dtates would be a better place

Bawanna
03-17-2011, 06:52 PM
Hopefully one day that will happen. Many here support groups in your state that are trying to make things better for you too.

Be nice to come up with national common sense gun laws but I fear thats a long long way off.

Heh, Indiana isn't to bad either. I think we are the first state to ever offer a lifetime ccw permit. We have had the castle doctrine law for about 5 years. Illinois our adjoing commi state if very very very close to finally passing a ccw permit. The will leave just wisconsin to get off their a-s.. or is it Minnesota??

gagnejs8

I'm pretty sure even here in the PROM we have the Castle Doctine

Izzy360
03-19-2011, 02:25 AM
Yes I think we have a castle type law. If someone breaks in your house you have to tell him to leave twice before you can engage the threat. He better land inside your house. And I think they tell you to retreat to a room and lock yourself in there and wait for police.
