How many of you folks consider your PM9 a "tweener"?
Member wyntrout, on a different thread, referred to his PM9 as a "tweener"... "The PM9 is my "tweener"... between the P380 and the PM45." I had to chuckle because I guess my PM9 is also a "tweener" fitting between my P3AT and Glock 26 for concealed carry (yeah, I like small carry guns).

No.
9mm is my personal minimum and the pm9 is about as small a 9 as I can find. I have .22s for plinking and have other centerfire handguns from 9mm, .38sp and .357mag, .40, .45, .44mag with barrels from 2" to 10". so for a carry gun, the pm9 is at the small end.

No for me also. I decided to sell both of my .380s and get the smallest, quality 9mm I could find. It's the smallest gun I own in size and caliber.

I do carry a .380 from time to time as well as a couple 45's and a XD9sc. However my go to almost everyday pistol is my PM9. I guess you could call it a tweener but I sure do not look at it that way. It's the first pistol and sometimes the only pistol I touch that day.

not only about as small as u can find but IMO the best of all offered. Rohrbaugh is smaller and lighter. THATS WHERE IT ENDS THOUGH. It is more difficult to shoot(felt recoil is ALOT) ergonomics doesn't compare to the PM9. Hi9gher bore axis, . no sight variations at all. very very ammo sensitive, (they even tell you what ammo to shoot). U best have a ton of their recoil springs on stock also. Higher priced than any kahr.
Nice gun, not knocking it but sometimes we can ask for something small and ultra light and maybe regret it later on.
NO doubt I am a TWEENER!! and proud of it..

It was almost my tweaked as I was gonna buy the S&W bodyguard .380 I even bought some ammo as I was gonna get it and there were none to be found. I even bought some .380 ammo on sale in anticipation. I guess I jumped the gun. So I saved alittle more and got the pm9. Now the M&P9c sits home for the wife

No tweener here...it is the smallest gun in the house in terms of both caliber and size. My normal gun is a 1911 45.

I've seen that before in several other places. Hell my wienie dog is a tweener, she is supposed to a miniature, but she's bigger than that, and smaller than a full sized.

My mother always refered to those awkward 11-12 year old youth as "tweenagers".
I am not sure what WynnTrout means when he says "tweener". Yeah, the 9mm is certainly between a 380 and 45acp, but in terms of all around functionality and effectiveness...? It is no "tweener". It is probably the best CCW out there (IMO). A 9mm with Corbon, Golden Saber or whatever quality personal defense ammo you may carry is pretty deadly. And..., to Jocko's earlier comment, it's size weight, and overall functionality makes it a pleasure to carry with confidence.
Do not get me wrong..., I like my 45's and carry anything from a 22LR to 45acp (depending on clothing) but I do believe the PM9 is probably the best all around CCW made. Again..., just my opinion! :D

My PM9 was a "tweener"; my other carry guns are a Kel-Tec P3AT, and Smith & Wesson M&P9c and 9 full-size. Since getting and breaking in the PM9, I haven't carried the P3AT.

It's beTWEEN the 9mm lite and the heavy-duty .45. I don't have anything else beTWEEN those calibers. :D
I would rather carry the PM45, but I wind up often carrying the P380. Sometimes I want a bit more punch without the extra weight. The PM9 is the perfect "compromise".
JMHO. :)

Yep, tweener between my P40 and my P380... but I find myself never carrying the PM9... for me too big to pocket carry (so the P380 gets the nod) and if holster carrying I'd rather have the P40.... but it's so dang reliable, good looking, hell of a piece of machinery, etc.. that I can't let it go (yet)...

I guess my PM9 is a 'tweener', between my minimalist LCP/j-frame .38 and the larger/more powerful .357 and larger capacity M&P9c. I do find myself carrying the PM9 or MK9 more often though, just a good compromise in weight and firepower. I do still have some reliability concerns over my other guns, but it is fading with every successful range trip. The Kahrs have both needed repairs done and the issues were severe (broken trigger bar and cracked slide).

yup that is severe sh-t. Never seen a broken trigger bar (where did it break at??). Have heard of cracked slides in the MK9 before but never in the pM9. ..

I want a quality, acurate, reliable 9mm that is small enough to fit in my front pocket, and durable enough to shoot a lot. So far, my Kahr PM9 seems to fit my template best of all.

No for me.I decided to get out of the .380 business altogether and so I used my Bersa Thunder and some .380 ammo in a trade for my PM9.I liked the Bersa but I`ve never regretted getting rid of it.The PM9 and a S&W 642 are the smallest handguns I carry and I have never felt undergunned when I carry them.I was probably worrying too much but I always had a nagging doubt concerning the stopping power of the .380 round.I read many articles, both pro and con,and decided to put an end to the indecision once and for all.
Now if I ever buy a .40,should I think of it as a "tween gun " between the 9mm and my .45?
I agree with most of the regulars here on this thread. I never really considered my PM9 to be a tweener. Although I have long been a 45 ACP man, I have found myself carrying my PM9 more and more on a daily basis, primarily due to office dress attire and I really don't feel that I am under gunned...just carry two extra mags with me.
If I had my choice for daily carry I would give the nod to my PM45 or Kimber 3" Ultra Raptor, they are slightly larger and marginally heavier.
Lately my pm9 has been my constant companion, a dandy weapon, reliable, well made and easy to carry. Kahr has a real winner in this pistol. It is just like my American Express Card..."don't leave home without it"!

It's small size makes it my primary......I do rotate to different weapons but the PM9 is really my primary.
It is the one piece that I would absolutely replace if something happened to it.

Not here - I almost refuse to carry below 9, but on the odd time that I MUST, I have a nice setup for that.

No tweener for me...
I have a nice assortment of handguns in larger and smaller calibers and sizes, but my PM9 is the one I carry all day every day (in a Crossbreed Supertuck).

My PM9 IS my main carry gun now!
It's got all the power and accuracy of larger guns*. Extra mags give good ammo capacity. Goes EVERYWHERE with me. What could a full-size gun do better besides less frequent reloads? Doesn't drag my pants down on that side either. ;)

Yep - a tweener. P3AT in dress pants. PM9 any other pants. G19 when I have to drive my daughter through North Philly to get to Children's Hospital (we go once a month to her Orthodontist).
Hi Navy!
Once I get my PM9 reliable with SD ammo I'll have a very similar carry system. P3AT - PM9 - Glock 26.
