I shoot outdoors exclusively...all weather/all temps.
I've found the best stuff (especially in sub-freezing temps) is synthetic.
There are likely several brands, but I landed on Kellube (with the needle applicator) and stayed there.
YMMV

TW25. This is great stuff, used widely by tyhe Mi9litary and if you order it, order it in the syringe applicatoor, U can then just lay a small line of grease right downh inside the slide rails and never miss a beat. It doesn'trun and will stay where u put it. Good stuff.

I am sure there are other great lubes out there, This is just ol jocko's favorite. U can take what I say sometimes with a grain or salt or a grain of plutonioum floating in the air around Japan to.

Well, Good morning Jocko! I figured either you or Bawanna would be on this right off the bat. He must still be snoozing. Yeah the hoppes oil tends to run no matter how light of an application you put on. I will look today at work and see what we carry. Nothing to do with this thread but want to share this with somebody. Today is my Birthday and my 23 year old son just told me he got hired full time where he has been working for the past 2 months as an intern. He is now a full fledged accountant! Im so proud of him. Best birthday gift I ever got. He is also moving out April first but will still be just minutes away. My son has now become an official adult.:D:D

my office is right below the shooting range so I have to listen to people shooting all day long. When the firing starts slowing down thats when I take my lunch break and go up to shoot.:86:

A big plus 1 on that. A supplier of wonderful things just upstairs and a freaking shooting range to boot. No doubt a discount on Tracker boats too.

You know I never did like you tconroy, never did, probably never will. I suppose someday if my jealousy ever subsides we could live in harmony 2 or 3000 miles apart but right now I'm a little bummed.

I'm not sure you'll be getting a Valentines card from me this year.

Been using a LIGHT film of green synthetic marine grease. Sticky as possum phlegm. Stays put. Cleans easy, and smells bad enough that the ol' lady knows its there.

Do you need an assistant? You know, a go'fer boy to pickup your brass and gas up the boat and atvs? :spider:I think that would beat being a Wal-Mart greeter anyday. 40% off of anythings sounds mighty nice these days.

OK I've changed my mind. I love you man! (not in any kind of mano mano way you understand). If you need two assistants after you get MikeyKahr all trained and broke in I'm your man.

Do you got elevators to that up stairs candy store? Can we play with the boats and atv's during lunch? Do we get to Bass fish with the boats on our days off. How many vacation days a week?

Love Your Pal

Yes we have elevators to go up to the candy and fudge shop. Yes I ride atvs during lunch or when I need to just get away for a few minutes. The used boats are the ones I can take on the weekends or on my days off to fish out of, I just have to replace the fuel I use.:D

I'm anticipating a huge influx of folks applying to be your assistant. Sounds like you got a job with some really nice benefits. Might not put meals on the table but lots of good stuff.

Thats why I could never work or own a gun shop. I'd bring stuff rather than money home and I'd have a hard time selling anything I wanted for myself.

I think I'm cursed.

it actually does put meals on the table. We are not part of Bass Pro. We just rent the space in their building. we are a seperate business and get paid very well. I am in managment and will most likely be running the shop next year with a sizable salary to match:D i do all kinds of side jobs and use that money to buy guns, ammo, motorcycles and what every else I want.We are empty nesters now and life is good! I Thank God for my health and my wife who works in the Pharmaceutical insurance business. As long as you love your job it makes life a lot easier to deal with.:D:D

Not only will Bawanna45cal and I be your assistants and help with anything you need (load the boat with fuel, load your magazines, take the new CM9 for a spin, wax shoes, etc.), we'll even stay at your house free of charge so you and your wife don't have to have that empty nest feeling. A bunk bed will do just fine for the time being. :7: :cheer2:

On a more serious note, I'm glad to hear that you and your wife are enjoying life and that your hard work has paid off for you. That does sound like a fantastic job you've got there, enjoy it and treasure it, especially in these difficult times.

I lost my job of 33 years last Feb. and have been working part time at Tracker for 2 years. they begged me to come on full time so I did. To loose your job at 50 years old and get another in less in a month is unheard of these days. I thank GOD every day for that.:)

I'll second that thought. We could have an incredibly good time.

I think it would be a blast to all meet someplace in a big hall of some sort but no name tags or identifiers. Everyone gets to guess who's who.

Maybe have everyone walk accross a stage with a number and everybody else guess who they are.

I'll come disguised as a walking dude.

We'd have a hell of a time for sure.

I use slide glide lite on all my pistols slides. Good stuff

04-07-2011, 10:48 PM
Wait a minute......Now what are you putting this on????

Jokes aside... (ahem) it goes on the frame rails, inside slide at top where the barrel locks, lower barrel lug, and a tiny dab on the place where the sear meets the striker. Maybe the barest wipe where the disconnector hits the slide. CLP - just a drop on the striker sliding spot, recoil spring. The trigger pivot and other parts are lubed enough from any soak in of solvents and CLP during cleaning.

So far - zero problems.
