View Full Version : Dawson night sights for CW (pics)

I been divided on night sights for my new CW-9. I considered the Trijicon, but the issues with high screws people have reported makes it more of a project. I found the Dawson sight a while ago, but they have been out of stock. A new batch showed up, and I stopped by Dawson, sort of on the way to Austin for me, and picked one up. These sights stake on rather than screw on, and come with staking tool.

The big thing for me is sight width. Both Kahr stock and Trijicon are .135 wide; Dawson is .125 wide. I like a thinner front sight, gives me a faster sight picture. The Russian Olympic shooters did a lot of testing, and I agree, thinner is better for me.

I also like the wide, flat shoe at the bottom of the sight, which should help if it gets knocked.

This is a great sight. Very bright at night. Fast during the day. I only did night sight on the front, all I want on a pocket pistol.

Also I added A-grip, which makes it even more comfortable to shoot.

At this point I think I am done. Nothing else to add to this puppy.

nice sight. I like that sight base on it also. I think Dawson makes some of the finest sights money can buy..

Very nice, Dawson makes good stuff. The front sight must be made to match the factory rear for proper height I assume. It sure looks right in the pictures.

Looking at the Dawson sights myself. Can you tell me if the white ring is behind glass or is it just surrounding the glass vile and hence subject to wear and decay like the Trijicon?

the white ring extends to the front slope of the sight. The vial with the Tritium is actually recessed into the sight and flat front, not sloped. The white will stick out further. I checked my Glock with Trijicons, and it looks similar.

I did notice the Dawson sight is ramped more than the Triji, which means its less likely to catch on something on the draw. Bonus.

The sight is factory height.

2 weeks isn't that bad. Ever ordered a popular kydex holster or sent a gun in for custom work? Sent off a G19 for a grip chop and slide refinish several years ago. I was married when I mailed it and living alone in an apartment when it came back. ;)
