First trip to the range today with new CW45. I put 100 rounds thru it using Winchester, Federal and Blazer and had 73 failures to go into battery!! Not a happy camper. A call to the tech folks got me a reminder that I need to put 200 thru it before it is "broken in", and I can declair it a dud. Seems like some serious up hill shooting tomorrow. Sure hope the CW doesn't feel any pressure, I know Kahr doesn't.

Thanks all for the advice. I did the pre range tune up as per jocko's manifesto. I did that with my CW 9, as well, and I've never had a problem it. I'll do it again tonight, just to make sure I didn't forget something. I've been at this stuff for a hundred years and It's getting easier to go on autopilot and forget to do something. I call it that an operator headspace problem.
This is the first time I've ever had a problem with a Kahr, and I was not expecting to have one. So, I had a real case of disappointment. I'll sure give it my best try, and hopefully it will do better. If not, I'll give you a back channel jocko, since we are both in Indy. I'll buy you a puppy if you can fix it!

have two yorkies and a cat. thank u for the offer. I am about 670 miles west of Indy, little Italian town called Clinton. Not normal for a cw45 to act like that either. Lets hope for the best. check the chamber out to see if it might need anice polishing job done on it. with slide open just insert a round in the chamber and see how it acts, and then see if u can tip the gun upward and the round fall out freely.

I had the same issue with mine.It would almost get to full battery then stop.I just pushed it a little then fired it.It functions fully now after the 200 round break in.

UPDATE: Another 100 rounds today and I just quit counting the number of failures to go into battery. It was voted "Boat Anchor of the Year" before I could slink off the rang; so embarrasing.
I'm going to put 100 more thru it, and, I assume, call Kahr full of rightous indignation. I would expect this kinda #^*@ with a Taurus, but I'm real disappointed.
Film at 11; tune in next week for as another boring episode of "As The Kahr Turns!"

I'm dissapointed too. This is a lousey way to start a weekend. Should have saved this post for Mondays. They normally suck anyhow.
Listen to Jocko, get hold of them guys, emphasis on the nicely. They will get you running. I have no doubt.

one poster here made a good comment. "If you truly love the gun, then go through the pain of getting it running right. If u are not in love with the gun, get it running right and then peddle it. My first wife was like that, I could never get her running right though and I still peddled her, took a beating, but trade in value running right or not was the same in the courts. U know that song, ' she got the gold mine, I got the shaft..

Sorry to hear about the issues and empathize with your frustration. Given the number of rounds you've put through the handgun using various types of ammo it definitely sounds like it's a problem with the firearm versus the ammo or break in (yes, I have a knack for stating the obvious).
The measure of a company is quality (minimal problems) and how they handle an issue when an issue does arise. Hopefully Kahr will make it right for you. Keep us posted.

When mine was doing this I took the barrel out and dropped a round in it to see if it was fully seating it,well the crappy Tulammo would not even sit in the barrel ,the WWB brass would sit in just fine ,try this and see if you have an out of spec barrel breach.

Update II: I tend to get a little OCD on some things; this one included. The only thing I can think of that I have not done is, per jocko's manifesto, rack the slide 500 time. While I'm not that easily entertained, I'll do it just to make sure I have all the bases covered. Stay tuned for exciting updates!:31:

Probably ain't gonna help. The gun needs to go back. satisfy yourself in knowing you have done all u can, then call kahr and ask for eion or Jay and explain indetail all u have done etc and ask them to send a prepaid pick up on the gun. Al lwe can give u is suggestions to "maybe" help avoiding sending it back. Evidently IMO therei is something wrong with the gun that only kahr can make right..
