I shot another 50 rounds through the PM9 today and had zero failures with Federal Champion 115gr. I even one-handed some shots. No limp wristing here!
On the next range trip, I'll fire 50 more Speer Lawman and call it good to go if all goes well.
Then, I'll try it on some Speer Gold Dots and Hornady TAP to see what SD round it prefers.
Did I mention that I love this little gun? :D

It does sound like your rather taken with it. And whats not to love, it sure seems to be doing what it's suppose to.
I'm a big Gold Dot fan myself but I don't shoot much 9 so really can't say if it runs well or not. We used Winchester in out duty guns back in the Beretta 92 days. It worked very well.
Congrats on the good functioning! Hope mine works as well this weekend

Thanks, CJB!
Just wanted to update this thread a little.
I put another 50 rounds down range today and am officially through the 200-round break in. Wahoo! I'm declaring her ready for carry with the 6 and 7 round mags. I had a couple of "nose dives" with the 8 round mag and found out that if I slap the bottom of the mag, those rounds will feed into the chamber and the slide will slam shut.
I also installed a Crimson Trace and love it. Now, I've got to find holsters to fit with the CT. Any ideas? Has anyone tried any of the Alabama kydex holsters?
Last, I found out that my PM9 does like Speer Gold Dots! :)

personally I think the 8 rounder is to long for the PM9 to be a reliable magazine. Just my two cents, certainly you won't carry it with an 8 round mag in it or why own a pM9.
Ur pm9 is doing what 99% all do. THEY WORK. This is kahrs bread and butter gun, by now most all bugs are gone in the PM9 and some of the bugs we read here are also "owner" bugs not always the guns bugs. reading the owners manual is very important. OIt is nout just a B.S manual like most. Gold Dots is problaby the most used round in kahrs to. they feed well, they shoot clean, they shoot accurate and they certainly have the power behind them to back \it up to..

Melissa, glad you are liking your PM9. Crimson Trace has a guide available of holsters available that are compatible with their products - http://www.crimsontrace.com/Home/Products/Holsters/tabid/353/Default.aspx
What Gold Dots are you running in your PM9? My carry load is the 124gr. +P Gold Dots.

Love my PM9........it's an oldie but goodie......VA# under 4000
I have lost track of my round count but the pistol has been accurate and reliable from day one.
Have shot several kinds of ammo but usually have Gold Dots in it for daily carry. I prefer the 124 grain in either standard or PlusP pressure levels.
For carry I usually load the magazine to capacity then chamber a round and do not top off the magazine.
A friend fired about 40 rounds of WWB 115 through it last month. When he finished he told me "thanks a lot now I'm going to go in debt for a new pistol". He was very impressed hoe accurate it was.

FWIW-this is what I do also. I do sometimes top load my PM45 if it's carried alone. My Cbob belt gun or other 1911's seldom get toploaded for carry.

Thanks for the guide. Now, I'll probably find something I like better than the Alabama holster I ordered earlier today! Anyway, I've been using 115gr Gold Dots, but was thinking about using +p in my Glocks. How is the recoil with +p in the PM9?
In the past, I have toploaded my Glock 36, but I don't think I'll do that with the PM9.

The +P's are a little snappier, but certainly controllable in the PM9.
Also, what do you mean by "toploaded"?

LOL! I said "toploaded" because Bawanna said it. Never heard it before. Anyway, toploading would be loading your magazine to full capacity, chambering a round, and then loading another round in the magazine. As in 6 + 1 for the PM9.

What do you folks refer to top loading. Never heard it called anything else. I just want to fit in?

No, you are probably correct, Bawanna. All I recall hearing is "topping off" the mag. I'm a newb and still learning.

Here's a few pics I snapped this morning. The pocket holster came from eBay and really hides the outline of the gun.

Nice. I notice no innertube or grip sleeve. Hows your hand hold up when your shooting?
Many find the grip too course and painful when shooting.

Surprisingly, the grip hasn't bothered me at all. Maybe it has to do with hand size or firmness of grip. I've got petite hands and keep a death grip on the gun! :p

Top-Loading... as in washing machines. :D
Topping off the mag is a good idea... AND making sure the top round is all the way to the rear of the magazine. If you just insert a magazine and chamber a round, the next round in the top of the magazine is usually pulled forward a bit and if too far forward, can "dive" when the slide tries to chamber it. This usually happens on the second or third shot. You should get at least two good shots if you make sure the top round is all the way to the rear. The Kahr 9mm's seem to be really prone to this... not all, though.

Way cool. I think they look better and conceal nicer without any mods. My PM45 was so course that in the course of bonding, fondling, cleaning, and some more bonding and fondling that my hand hurt sooooo bad I had to post pone the first ranges session. A simple hunk of innertube made it all better. I've since upgraded to a hogue and like the palm swell and finger grooves. Would not be good for pocket and not even as good for IWB I suspect.
Guess in addition to petite hands and the choke the chicken grip, your just tougher than me.

This is exactly why I don't top load/top off usually. I've never ran a washing machine so I don't know nothing about that. I did operate the dryer a couple times, seemed simple enough.

Nah, it could be that the newer guns don't have a really aggressive grip as the older guns. Since I don't have an older one to compare, I'm just guessing.

I was looking at your pocket holster.Very nice indeed but a question. Are you left-handed? I`m ambidextrous which means I can screw things up with either hand equally well.

Good question Dietrich, I'm curious as well but I've seen pocket holsters just like that for right. It's to make the gun look, well not like a gun.
Darned if I can grasp how you reach for it. (Little ole cowboy talk there.) Seems like you got to pull it out with thumb and finger before you go for the grip.
I never have pocket carried and probably never will, stuff fall out of my pockets and hard to draw sitting down.
Course I like to think I'll see it coming and already have the equalizer in my hand but life does come at ya fast.
I'm guessing Ms Melissa is a righty.

You would be correct. That is a right hand holster, the flap is there to break up the out line of the gun, still looks like something, but less like a gun. When drawing, I find that as my hand goes toward the pistol, that it pushes the flap out and allows for a full hold as I pull it out. Then again, I use a nylon holster for my snub nosed 357.

You got it right. The flap pushes out and lets me get a good grip and get my finger pointed down the slide.
I am a righty. :)

Sweet Mary and Joseph, I had to take a quick double take on that one. Thought for sure I'd been given the Hawaiin good luck sign.
I see how it works now, makes a little more sense. Thanks for the education and not giving me the good luck sign.
Hmm, I think we've met, I know I've seen that hand before.

LOL! My poor hands! I cut grass yesterday and pulled weeds. Don't know if I got into something I'm allergic to or if it's a little bit of sun poisoning, but I've got little bumps all over them. Doesn't itch though.
