View Full Version : MW Surveyor and I went shooting today

So, the Surv and I busted some caps together today at a local outdoor range. The Surv shot his CW9 and I shot my new PM9. Surv also shot a beautiful polymer frame CZ that was a tack driver.
I didn't shoot very well at all and Surv and I decided it was a Blazer ammo I was shooting. I think that was the ticket. I also had one failure to feed with a six round magazine. The Surveyor and I agreed it was the ammo, a limp wrist or the weather that caused the problem... anything but the gun. We were big on excuses.
Kidding aside, I'm kind of discouraged at how poorly I'm shooting the PM9. My shots go everywhere with no real discernible groups. I'm not giving up on the gun or myself yet but I hope to see some improvement soon. I have 400 rounds through the gun at this point.

Off topic, Bill. Is South Texas, NJ a real place? Story?

Great question Jeremiah. I am a member of the Jerzee Devils knife forum. In order to make myself feel welcome and that I belonged on those forums, I concocted that location. You see, while I find myself living in South Texas, I was conceived at Fort Dix in NJ during WWII. I spent most of my life though on Chicago's southside.
It's really fun being nuts.

Bill - you also gotta remember that we said that the CW9 and the PM9 are not range guns!
Besides, the sun was gettin in our eyes, there was a few good lookin girls there (especially the one that was to my left), etc.
Hey, we hit the targets anyway. So all is good.

willieboy: more rounds and the groups will get better, but I can tell you from my experience after 30,000 rounds out of my PM9. I still shoot it horrably, compared to my G19 from 7 yards even. I shoot it good enough to keep every shot in the FBI "Q" silhouette target (which you know is body cavity size_) but it ain't a target gun for me that is for sure. I accept that to as the trigger system is not like glocks either. The loooong trigger on kahrs although smooth is the culprit for most who shoot poorley. We can't blame the gun for that or the ammo either. And some people are just good shooters to. I am not but like I said, I can shoot myG19 at 7 yards and cover it with a quarter, Just no way I can do that wity my PM9, not even close. It is my range gun though,, it is pleasant to shoot, I love to shoot it, I strive to get better to but it is my 24/7 defense gun and I want to know everything about it. The accuracy is plenty good enough for me to. In a panic situation,I seriously douvbt if sights will play alot in the first place, so POA shooting is what I try to get decent at. So I would have fitted in with your group well, probably would have even inflated your shooting some when compared to me. Definitely rounds all over the place is a result of "trigger disciplie" or lack of..

I do remember the girl to your left was quite atrractive. She had beautiful, full, firm... ankles.

Ankles Bill?...Ankles, is that what you............... never mind.
jocko - I'm hoping that the 5 lb striker spring helps to tighten up my groups on the CW9. Granted that it will never be a real "range" gun but it does have a larger grip than the PM9 so for me it is easier to shoot.

certainly the 5# striker spirng is a plus, IMO

Errr.....NO!
(next time maybe?)
jocko - you got your post in just before mine. (forgot that the cell phone had a camera? besides, she had a gun and could shoot!). Remember this is a "family forum". I know, I know, you're supposed to share things with your family.

We didn't take any pictures of her ankles. Didn't want to seem like pervs ya know. Speaking of body parts, I failed to mention her ear lobes and knees. Just stunning!

Ankles were perfectly acceptable even for the Waltons, and the little Fairy on the Prairie folks.
I think your holding out on us.

You guys are such hose teasers! I'm gonna go back to making sawdust and try to take my mind away from this teasing.

As Bill says, she was pretty perky everywhere! Just take our word for it. There were a few others there that weren't too bad either. Next time we will have to bring one of those little spy cameras. Don't want to seem like old perverts (openly at least). Not only that, but it's kind of hard to miss center mass at 6 to 9 feet.
BTW - The new electronic muffs worked pretty good. Was able to hear conversations pretty well with them on. Got the Howard Lieghts. One conversation was about a new Taurus 24/7 (I think in 9mm). Two women were conversing and one of them said that she liked it better than the 357 her husband bought her. SEE guys, if you want to get a gun for your wife, make sure that it's the gun that SHE likes.
Well, back out to the yard. SWMBO is back from the grandkids and tearing the yard apart. Of course I've got to contribute my own labor. (Really hate workin in the yard)
