After much deciding on the cw45 vs. cw40 I went with a cw45 because I could find one locally. Went into sportsman's warehouse and purchased a couple 50 round boxes HSM factroy loaded 230gr target rounds and a box of speer gold dots. After a full cleaning of the firearm, I went to the range to get it broken infigure out. On first round the gun went click and nothing. I looked down and it failed to go into battery. I tried to eject it and it was stuck and with much force broke free. When I let go of slide the next round failed to go into battery again. Dropped the magazine again and removed this round too. After the third try I was livid. Fortunately I had brought 20 rounds of Speer GD's. These cycled beautifully and ending up giving box of HSM's to guy next to me shooting an XD. They cycled no problems in his firearm and we ended up swapping out for some Winchester white box ammo which cycled perfectly as well.

For future heads up the HSM ammo is in a bright orange box by the way. Hoping to get to an indoor range today to break in the Kahr some more. Great gun and I think I will be looking at the cw9 as well here shortly.

Hi there!!!

I've never used that brand of ammo, but just in case check these couple of links if you haven't done so;

http://www.kahr.com/faq.asp#q10 This is from the Kahr web page. Is their FAQ and is very informative, then...
http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1521 this complements the other one, again, very informative and helpful.

I have different handguns that needed less attention when they were new, Kahrs imho, need more attention at first but once they've been broken in they as easy and reliable to use as any other gun and they are a whole lot more concealable and elegant too including my CW45 or the CW line.

I had the same problems with my PM45 ejecting some target ammo and some name brand SD ammo. In the end I found speer gold dots and remington golden sabers seem to work fine. The SD ammo that gave me the most problem in my Kahr PM45 and CW45 was hornady. They would not cycle live rounds and it was difficult to say the least to eject them. BTW the hornady work fine in my glock 39.
