View Full Version : Has anybody been able to get their hands on a CM9 yet?
They were supposed to start shipping on 3/21. The guys at my LGS didn't even know anything about it yet when I asked.

I would not expect to see the cm9 pouring out of Kahr by the hundreds even. Probably the biggest wholesalers with kahr will get the initial bulk of the shipments. Just easier that way. This gun is going to be a spit and image of the PM9 and it should be one of kahrs good to go out of the box guns to. This is just the same gun as the PM9 without allthe bells and whistles which should not add or subtract from total reliability either. This gun is gonna be a winner IMO. Give it a good year down the road and you will see prices on the cm9 that will blow your mind for such a fine quality peace, IMO..

Jocko, Bawanna, anyone, What do you think are the chances of seeing a CM40 or 45 come out this year?

My prediction, the cm40 will be next in line, not sure when, again nothing new in making the cm40 either or cm45. bells and whistles add nadda to reliability. It will happen, just not sure if by years end. The cm9 will take off like hot cakes, I have no doubt about, stands to reason the 40 and 45 would do the same. Kahr is only so so big to, so it takes pr0obably major investments in new machinery, more people to do the work butif the market is there for it, they will do it. They IMO did the right thing in coming out with the 9mm first, as it is certainly their most popular selling caliber. I would think the 40 would be next but based on the 45 lovers and owners of 1911's, I might be wroing in that assumption. will the cm9 take away sales from the PM9, probably so, expecially if both are sitting in the showcase and one is $`175 less and looks exactly the same. VBUT we have seen lately some ultra fantastic prices on the PM9, and with a spare magazine and dovetails sights etc and polygonal rifled barrel and forged slide stop lever and alittle slide modeling that enhances looks, ,,, a bargain price PM9 is gonna be hard to pass up.

I guess a lot of people will just have to have one of these... then they'll have to buy at least one extra magazine... then they'll be carping about the plastic front sight and the MIM slide lock. The magazine and forged slide lock will add about $70 more and that should be enough unless you need to upgrade the sights... still a good deal after the supply catches up to initial demand and premium prices drop.
I have all the PM's I need, but spares at bargain prices... who knows. If Kahr ever makes the ported barrels for the CW45, I might consider a "project gun". The TP45 is one of the best bargains going, but the grip needs cutting down to "P" length. It just looks out of proprtion and too long to me.
Gunshow this weekend and I'm trying to figure out if I'm caught up with MY gifts... birthday in June and I don't hink I've gotten anything for next Christmas, either.
I guess the sights for my Champion were my anniversary gift... and maybe the gun was for the next birthday. I had better be careful... I'm sure my wife might thing I'm a little too self-indulgent.

MIM slide stop has actualy give less issues than the forged kahr slide stops. so that onepart is a no brainer for me. makes no differencje. The extra magazine if it was a a6 rounder that would be worth it, then but that butt ugly half the time works right extended magazine they put witht he PM9, they can just keep that part. Sights, probalbuy will see now alot more variations of night sights with the cm series coming out, Just my predictions..

I agree that the PM series will be impacted, but the CW series could be devastated. There may be a few fans who stick with them, but they'll have very limited new buyers.

I keep thinking about another 1911... stainless with a rail, laser grips, night sights... oh, and a round mainspring housing. I like that and that's usually the first thing I look for... but then I have cheap champagne tastes and a beer budget.
It's frustrating to finally get a gun with decent sights and find that I can't shoot much better at 15 yards... sights are fuzzy and I get tired of trying to hold them on the target. 7 yards is my "speed" and I'll have to stick with that... until I try a range with benches and have a nice rest.
