Missing front sight, broke off. Has anyone sent in to have dove tail cut and new sights installed?
Like to have ball park of how much?

Thanks!

Don't know of anyone who has had a dovetail cut. Dawson Precision offers a replacement front sight for the CW that you can easily install yourself. It's a good sight and much more durable than the factory.

Don't recall what the price is on them but certainly less than machining a dovetail.

I just visited Dawson and they have black, fiber optic or tritium filled fronts sights from 25 to about 55 bucks.

Quite a few here have installed them on their CW's and perhaps they could chime in with their perceptions.

I've used other Dawson products and they are a good outfit, good CS and good stuff.

Yeah, I'd like to hear about that too. I can't afford it right now but I would eventually like to get tritium night sights for my CW9. I'm thinking if I only get the front sights and do the installation myself it will be cheaper, meaning I could get it sooner rather than later. But I'm a geek not someone who is adept with tools, so it would have to be pretty simple if I were to try.

So I'd like to hear the experience of others, both from how hard it was to do as well as how you like them vs. other tritium options from other vendors.

Thanks.

My front sight came off on my CW45,I emailed Kahr and they sent me a new one,It took longer to heat up the soldering iron than it did to actually put the new one on.

Hello all,

I'm new here so bear with me...

I bought the Kahr fiber optic front sight for my new CW9 and when it showed up, lo and behold it was the Dawson Precision sight w/staking tool. Installation was a snap, however you must provide the locktite recommended for the install. Go slow and check to see that the sight base is flush with the slide after the first flaring tap on each stud. Once you are sure it's flush a few more taps and the flares are done.

Three hundred rounds later, the front sight is just as sturdy as when it went on.

Since the front sight is anodized aluminum it stands to reason that it'll last alot longer than the plastic factory sight.
