Does anyone know if a T9 barrel would function properly in a K9?
From what i understand, the suppressor co. could thread it.
I called Kahr and they said No it won't work, but i swear i remember seeing a pm9 with a k9 barrel, threading and suppressed.

humm, very interesting, I wonder what their reasoning was for the T9 barrel not fitting in the K9.... I am going to recheck on that myself. sounds strange but who knows..

T9 barrel will function a K9.
My K9 is a very early carbon steel model with an aftermarket hard chrome finish.
Setting up to have the barrel threaded.

The PM9 barrel is totally different and won't work in a K9. I have both guns and checked the difference long ago. I"ll try to find some pictures.
I hope these are large enough to see the differences. Check the file name for barrel order.
It would be nice if the T9 barrel fits the K9. Please, follow up reports on mating those and testing. Pix are always appreciated, too, especially of the T9 and K9 barrels together.
My K9 is circa late '97 or early '98... serial# AR11xx. I ordered it new in March '98.
My PM9 is from April 2006 with serial# VC25xx

assuming u have put some rounds out of the K9 with the T9 barrel in it. If it works OK you sure have enough length to supress it.:third:

The Kahr T9 barrel and the K9 barrel are identical or very close.
T9 barrel drops-in and fires with no problems in my K9.
Macro photos are beyond my equipment.
Will try a photo of the T9 & K9 barrel in comparison.

I tried to find some way to compare those with the info at Kahr, but there just wasn't any way.
It would be nice to see more compatibility checks and comparisons with pictures.
There are a lot of products and variations Kahr could offer... ported barrels for all of their pistols, flush metal bases for all calibers, and... of course, my favorite request... a K45... all SS K45. Threaded barrels would be popular, for sure.

thats all that matters I would think the go bang thing.... kinda odd that kahr would tell methat when I ask though, just gores to show that those that we think should know indeed do not know. U seem to have proved that..

I don't think they want to encourage substitutions like that... safety and liability concerns. BUT, inquiring minds want to know. :D

Side-by-side there are slight differences in a K9 & T9 barrel.
Apparently, not enough to matter.

Thanks a lot. They do look very similar, but one's a little longer.:D
I guess that's something else to consider for my K9. Fortunately, mine is of late enough manufacture that the Laser Grips will work.
Thanks again!

My K9 was slightly out of battery with a T9 barrel in place.
Not enough to prevent the gun from firing or creating a hazard.
The angle of the barrel lug was slightly different.
After minimal filing with a 2-sided safe file the K9 now goes into full battery.
More before modification comparison photos attached.

Thanks BlackSmith! I think i will take the plunge and get a T9 barrel, custom fit/file it so it fits like a glove, then thread it!

I wonder if Kahr K9 pistols are for sale in Canada. Since Canada requires a longer barrel, a K9 should have longer barrel. However, it may be too long for American K9 frame. In this case, if we can get hold of a Canadian compliance K9 barrel, we do not have to adjust the angle of the barrel lug. It may be not cost effective though.
